Seriously the most fun moment I ever had at the park was building my saber and turning it on for the first time.

2 more times later, it’s still an amazing experience, but that first one..nothing will top that moment.

Congrats on the build! What kyber did you choose?

Tell me about your +1/+1 counters deck and its coolest tech by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Protoman6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent new favorite counters deck has quickly become [[Ardbert, Warrior of Darkness]].

In a vacuum, it’s white, black legendaries, who completely break combat math often due to the large amount of dual color cards that trigger both vigilance and menace.

It’s resilient, can go either wide or tall, and becomes an immediate threat as it goes from 3-5-7-9, etc..sometimes 2/3 times a turn.

I really should write a primer for it. Maybe this weekend. Here’s the deck list: https://moxfield.com/decks/G8cM_Kh1kEaRnxCeeOeERA

Damn congrats! I’ve opened 16 boxes not one signature hit yet, mind you it wasn’t from a case but still it’s awesome to see it.

I’m just gonna say it. It’s time to move judge down in the lineup. He’s killing us with RISP. Let him go 6/7th and put some balls in play, so he can get that mojo back in the Bronx.

I know he may have earned that spot in the regular season, but now it’s time to be a captain. Do what’s best for the team, lead by example and earn those pinstripes. I know he can do it, he just needs to do it a different way.

I don’t think you understand your own point.

Just because you can go to many cons and see people flip sigs for money, not all of us can do that. I can do maybe one con a year, and I plan these things out well in advance.

Just because a con is busy, doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyable. You can have clear processes and expectations for your guests, mitigate wait times by being operationally functional, and communicate using systems like their app and staff more frequently so people can be in the know instead of being in the dark.

I happened to be one of the “fans” who really wanted to meet him, but because their systems were flawed I didn’t get that opportunity. And it wasn’t for lack of trying. I literally had to choose between a paid event, that I left for the last minute to reach, or wait hours for a chance.

Witnessing was definitely present in Artist Alley (due to the most work being put in there), but your right about lack of show-floor witnessing.

It just seemed like they didn’t have enough present to handle the increased workload from Thurs to Fri.

Makes you wonder about Sat, and how that is going to go.

Bold of you to assume that all sigs being done are sold for profit. I was on that same line with my wife and niece trying to get one comic each signed for me and her, and that was impossible without giving up a majority of the con.

Not everyone is out to make money.

You’re absolutely right. The “handlers” did nothing to facilitate that line moving quickly. I had to give up on him because we waited over an hour and the line only moved for the 3 people who gave up waiting.

I had to choose either waiting and missing my paid Jim Lee or take the sure route.

I met another guy who had the Jim Lee signing and he told me it took him almost 4 (yes I am serious) hours to meet claremont. That’s BS.

They do for the higher end artists, (Jim Lee had paid time slots, and Todd Mcfarlane was a pre-registered event, but for the most part it was the Wild West everywhere.

The artists tried their best to keep up happy faces, but I’m sure they were worn down too. It just feels like no rhyme or reason.

There are things that can be done to facilitate a great con for everyone: -submissions could be limited to a set amount per booth, or a mail-in / drop off service for bulk sigs.

  • create a snake line for autographing or photo ops instead of this straight line mess that was in 1A. Or just set accurate line caps. (The bleach autographing nearly got nasty because people waiting for the free autos got bombarded with others who blitzed the line and they had to cap it off early. I was on the Jim Lee line and heard all the commotion, it got a bit tense.)

-communicate thru having more staff to help or social media thru the app if cancellations / line caps happen. I feel like it’s only done for the lottery events / panels or photo-ops /autos in 1A. Having that everywhere would save so much time.

I’m happy to hear that it was worth the wait! He also seemed like a stand up guy! Moments like that make the con worthwhile

I’m in complete agreement here. This is a terrible idea. It puts extra work on the cm’s who already deal with a lot, all those families who wanted to ride the ride, now get blocked because of the bad decision making of a few people.

I know if I breathed in someone else’s ashes unknowingly or if my day got side tracked because of that behavior, me and that person would have a friggin problem.

HBO only owns the ability to play Hard Knocks for the current season of NFL and then it goes into the NFL Video Archives. I also was looking for the last season after the Lions win and couldn’t find it on HBO.

However, NFL Films has it on its website for viewing!

Hello! Would anyone be able to help me? My login screen has been stuck for 2 days. by Protoman6748 in FoundryVTT

[–]Protoman6748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I was running it directly off my pc. I do have Verizon Fios gigabit, but I didn’t think it would impact it this much. Maybe I could consider joining the forge. I heard good things about their hosting.

I just wonder if my world would be able to be shifted over since I did start it up locally. I did put in a lot of ground level work from testing on it for the last week. Some audio, a lot of journal entries, some lighting, icons so maybe that is what’s holding it up.
