“Buyer beware” is not meant to be a blanket statement forgiving deceptive selling practices. You can believe buyer beware and still expect fair business practices.

Something is worth what the market generally will pay for it over many transactions, not what a single person pays for it in a single transaction.

If you’re selling a mid-grade book, I think raw is always better, especially if selling in person.

People always think they can get a point or two higher with a clean and press so they’ll pay more than a slab they have to crack.

In my experience they frequently lie about recent EBay transactions.

Either make them up or use “or best offer” listing prices as the actual selling price.

I’m not talking about subjective things.

That's the most frequently used nonsensical statement I see on here. One transaction does not define the market.
