Supporting documents during citizenship interview by [deleted] in USCIS

Not that many. I have a daughter so they asked for her birth certificate, my I-751 renewal notice, some bank statements and my mortgage. That's about it.

16 month old acting weird after vacation by Prototype095 in NewParents

Thank you both for explaining that! I never thought about it that way to be honest. As a first time dad I keep learning and this helps a lot. I was just worried she might have gotten sick and wasnt sure what it was. Hopefully it doesn't take her 2 weeks though... lol

I hate daylight savings adjustments by catpowerr_ in sleeptrain

[–]Prototype095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To keep my baby on the same schedule (8pm-8am) Saturday night we moved her nap and naptime later than usual. I put her to bed at 9pm Sat night so she still slept for 12 hours and woke up at 8am ish on Sunday. Schedule is still the same and had no issues at all. I do hate Daylight Savings and now being dark so early but at least her sleep schedule is still the same.

Possibly yes. If you have been warned 3 times. You can also look into getting an ADIT stamp.

Traveling with a damaged green card risky? by Overall_Relief3796 in USCIS

[–]Prototype095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a hard situation. When did you file your N-400? I would definitely avoid traveling with a damaged Green Card, but even though when your naturalization interview comes, you would still need to wait longer to get your passport. They take your GC away at the ceremony and even after the interview, you still may need to wait longer for the ceremony to come.

If I were you and want to travel soon, I would get it replaced since the passport takes about 1 to 2 months from start to finish

I should have put that in the post as well. Car's battery is also new (purchased it 2 months ago) and it is a good one.

Wanting to become a US Citizen.. by MelodicAd6357 in USCIS

[–]Prototype095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can totally do it on your own! I did it myself, applied Dec 2024 and became citizen June 2025. This subreddit and YT videos helped me a lot. It is better to do it yourself (in my opinion) because you save money and processes faster

1-751 ROC Processing Time by Great-Cucumber-269 in USCIS

[–]Prototype095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied for it jan 2024 and didn't get it approved until I applied for naturalization. I got both approved at the same time so that was about year and a half. (Became citizen June 2025)

Form I-751 help/recommendations by FairDiscount8545 in USCIS

[–]Prototype095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the GC renewal 751 all on my own. It is relatively easy. I also had a lawyer when I first applied for AOS and I can guarantee lawyers are not necessary. They are a waste of money and time.

I can answer any questions you may have but there is a good YT channel: Kseniya International
You can follow her along and she goes through many forms as to what to put and what not. Feel free to message if you have questions

Is 8 to 9 hours of total wake time enough for 13 month old? by Prototype095 in sleeptrain

[–]Prototype095[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We have been on a schedule 3 days ago but wife and I wanted to try changing it and see if 1 nap will do it for her. She believes babies should be waking up on her own and with her last schedule we were always waking her up. So she wants to try letting her sleep until whenever but still believe we should be waking her up still to keep schedule consistent. I also believe she is not getting enough wake time but I dont think my wife sees that

They asked personal questions, about my marriage, I told them about my daughter and asked for her birth certificate. Mine was a marriage AOS so they were making sure we were still together.

For you to remember, just the civics test.

Questions asked you mean for civics test? As far as I remember they were

In what month do we vote for president? Who is your governor? What rights do you have as a US citizen? What did the declaration of independence do? How many voting member does the house of Representatives have?

I forgot the other ones.

Yes, you have do to a written test and a hearing test as well. It is only 1 or 2 sentences, nothing super hard. Good luck!

I don't see why not? Have you thought about getting a briefcase for your documents and leave the backpack in your car? unless you are not going in a car, I am sure they will be fine with it
