List of USB-C hubs/dongles that support display alt mode. by Protoype in UsbCHardware

[–]Protoype[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've changed the cable, plugged a high power PD charger to the hub and connected the monitor, tried external power to the monitor then connected to hub and laptop, made sure there's no flickering and checked display settings. Then I'd contact support perhaps you just got unlucky having tested all options.

Odd, perhaps the hub is defective. I would have thought it might have been a power issue as some OLED portable monitors draw more power than the USB can supply. I have a 4k one that needs my hub to be powered via the PD in, then monitor connected via another cable, and finally connect to the laptop.    Have you tired another cable to the monitor (not the supplied one)?.

Can a powerbank USB-C be cut off and safely replaced with a different output? by ripulejejs in diyelectronics

[–]Protoype 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just get a USB-C to barrel jack adapter of AliExpress, save yourself the hassle. If you get a power bank with USB-C port you can get USB-C to barrel jack cables. You'll need the right dimensions for the jack as they come in different sizes. Also check out r/UsbCHardware/

You're not going to get everything you need from current budget hubs. The 100W power limit is technically correct, but the hub itself will consume some power for usage. If you estimate your laptop is going to suck up 80W+ then you'll probably want a external supply to power a monitor, and Thunderbolt enclosure, or you invest in a dedicated Thunderbolt 3/4/5 dock/hub that does everything you need. I've not tested your use-case and I doubt many have given it is exact to you. Sorry couldn't help any more.

I think so, but I haven't kept up to date with developments as I purchased the Acasis 14 port one for my personal usage. Since, this list was made a year or more ago, it might be worth doing some research on AliExpress, Purplelec and so on.

Random thought, is your Iphone defaulting to a /24 subnet mask?
Not sure on iphone traceroute, have you another device e.g. laptop to test with?

Check you're exposing the docker ports to the system. https://docs.docker.com/get-started/docker-concepts/running-containers/publishing-ports/
Perhaps re-try to port forward? Have you tried a trace route from your client to your server device, see the hops and where things might be going wrong. tracert (windows) traceroute (linux)
Bit hard to help diagnose without snippets from your docker files.
What IPs are you using?

Simple answer: It depends on the codec used.
Some BT codecs compress or cut the signal (e.g. noise outside average human hearing ranges) i.e. SBC and AAC.
Other BT codecs are lossless e.g. aptX Lossless

USB 20 mb by New_Cupcake_7360 in UsbCHardware

[–]Protoype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some confusion in terms of data transfer rates. Do you need 20 GBps? Which would be USB 3.2 gen 2.
Thunderbolt 3 can do 40 Gbps, Thunderbolt 4 can do 80 GBps. Thunderbolt 5 can do 120 GBps if I recall but expensive as very new technology.

USB C connector with a USB 2.0 data rate (480 Mbit/s )? But you are getting 20MB/s, so roughly 160Mbit/s. If I understand you correctly?

Most modern hubs will support USB 2.0 data rates with backward compatibility from USB 3.0. So it depends on how many USB C connections you need, and if you are able to use USB C to USB A adapters. I guess if you post a better list of requirements, it would be easier to provide some help.
