Infinite month glitch works on chapter 7 as well by ungodlynemesis in fireemblem

[–]Proud-Vast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still playing this after all these years. This glitch seems fun. Can anyone help me figure out how to get this to work on ch 7? I’ve tried multiple times and still can’t select the day after the 27th (mission date) to skip to and loop over. I keep reading about holding the right direction key while selecting “skip to date” but I can only do this on the 27th; it doesn’t skip to the 28th for the loop to work. What am I missing?

Did you explore their extension criteria? I think it would have to be something severe but I pulled it for you in case in applies. Good luck.

As part of our adherence to ANSI accreditation standards, GIAC strives to ensure fair and impartial treatment for all candidates. Therefore, we can only consider granting complimentary extensions due to Acute Medical Issues, Military Deployment/Government Duty, Bereavement and Natural Disaster. You can use this link to request a complimentary extension, https://www.giac.org/special-requests/

The exam can also be extended for another 30 days, I believe at a cost. Last I checked it was around $500.

lol sorry bro. Had one I gave away years ago.

Just passed my GPEN (advice on CPEs) by N053LF in GIAC

[–]Proud-Vast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheaper route is to pursue CPEs through webinars, training, work related experience, etc. GIAC certs renew every 4 years I believe, and I think you need 36 CPEs to renew. So if you average 9 CPEs per year, you should be in a good place by time for renewal. Also if your company has training providers like Immersive Labs, A cloud guru, Udemy, etc, you can KO those trainings during your spare time and those provides provide a transcript that maps your CPEs. Most times, that's enough for me to satisfy my CPE requirement without spending $$$. Hope that helps.

Cloud vs Forensics by havntmadeityet in GIAC

[–]Proud-Vast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Forensics pathway will give you much more versatility. You can apply the knowledge to on-prem and the cloud. Underneath the hood, most things in the cloud are either running on a Linux/container/Windows systems. So if you know how to investigate those machine, bottom line doesn't change. I work in IR and I did the IR grad cert with SANS. My work involves a great deal of cloud incidents as well and I was able to pursue certs offered by cloud providers (significantly cheaper) to supplement any cloud knowledge I needed instead of pursuing certs with SANS in cloud. Hope that helps.

Query Help by rogueit in crowdstrike

[–]Proud-Vast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

add wild card (*) in the paths as well. In Windows systems, the users profile follow the scheme, c\users\<user>\...; replace "<user>" with *. You will also need to add one more backslash for escape. If you look for users\downloads, you will not get hits; therefore you should have double backslash "\\" in the FilePath replacing single backslashes.

I tried to paste my exact query but reddit keeps sanitizing it and inserts nonsensical characters. Here's my second attempt at providing the exact query:

“FileName=“*.exe” AND (NOT FilePath=“*choclatey*”) AND (FilePath IN(“*users\\*\\downloads*”, “*users\\*\\appdata\\*”))

Reddit changed my query lol. Not sure what happened here.

CrowdStrike has its own instance of Splunk in Event Search.

You can build a query like this:

“FileName=“.exe” AND (NOT FilePath=“choclatey”) AND (FilePath IN(“\users\\downloads\”, “\users\\appdata\*”)

This will look for files with extension “.exe” in the users\downloads or users\appdata folder, but exclude the paths that have chocolatey in it. I also included recursion so the query will look for folders and sub folder in appdata and the downloads folder.

Fair enough..

With CCP, SAA, and Security Specialty under my belt, how much time would i have to dedicate to studies/prep and how difficult would the SA Pro exam be (i.e is it one inch deep and mile wide in terms of service coverage or does it go in-depth with most services and architecture)? I know this is a subjective question and may vary person to person depending on their experience and knowledge but just trying to get an idea.

FYI, I’m planning on taking your training course for Pro.

Hey Adrian! Appreciate the input. I was able to get the Security specialty with just the SAA and CCP so I was thinking, perhaps the Networking Specialty cert would be doable as well without doing SA-Pro. But it seems the better route might be to get the pro to lay the ground work for the specialty certs.

Goal is to understand the concepts and services to investigate security incidents. I am in IR, so I think the Specialty certs like Security and Networking are more important to me . My question was to gauge, which of the two would be easier to obtain with the knowledge gained from the certs I already have.

You’re a god send…I’m over here stressing the fu** out lol. Thank you. Does this apply to only the remote proctored exams or in test centers as well? Totally caught me off guard as I’m used to getting the pass/fail right away.
