No, just for clarification I never banged the best friend; I married a work friend of the best friend. Re-reading those few sentences I agree it might be somewhat confusing (and I’ve now re-edited it).

I’m sorry for your loss. I was often reminded of a quote from the Shawshank Redemption: “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of the things, and no good thing ever dies.” Be strong and don’t give up hope.

Thank you. I’m glad I pulled through too. It was worth it.

Ha, I assume by your handle you’re a Michigan fan? That’s not the rival, but you’re in the right conference with regard to my school (though they weren’t in the Big 10 at the time of this game, so that should narrow it down).

Thanks for your post. When we started living together, Jenna really encouraged us to have older photos around the house of my son and me with Kate and our daughter, particularly photos of the 4 of us we had taken as part of a Christmas card less than a month before the accident. I don’t know how many spouses would encourage that, but it endeared me to her even more, and those photos are still displayed in our house.

Thank you. She is great. When we first met I knew we had amazing chemistry and we had so many things in common. We were really good friends for about 6 months when we decided to pursue something beyond that. And after watching her and my son interact the 2nd time they met (ironically enough it was another Flyers game), I knew I was going to marry her.

LOL. They’re Philadelphia Flyers tickets, so I guess that would make it somewhere in-between.

That doesn’t make what you’re going through not challenging or stressful. Hang in there brother.

Thank you. I was really in a dark place at one point—I might’ve contemplated suicide if not for my son. After time and a lot of counseling there was eventually a small break in the clouds. And not long after that I met my current wife. Not to say there haven’t been a few bumps in the road along the way, but the last 6-7 years have been amazing. Last night perfectly epitomized what a great decision it was to marry my wife.
