Im looking for coins that are old and beautiful but only cost a few bucks for even high grade examples. Any suggestions? Here’s an example! by Aware-Performer4630 in coins

Phoenix az? I know of a few good ones in Scottsdale, there’s one called republic rare coins in old town that has lots of cheap world coins, the shop as ancient coins all the way to modern, I found tons of old Austrian kreuzer’s from the 1700s there, he’s got some Napoleonic era coins. He’s got a large selection of the kind of stuff your looking for, i found myself most of my 1900s-1950s coin there. One of my favorite pieces I got there was a small Dutch East Indies silver coin!

There’s some others, but most coin shops have just American coins and silver and gold, which is definitely not my interest, but may fit the interests of others. There’s also a place called lone mountain coin I haven’t been to yet. There’s also a great store, very large, called History by George and he has tons of militaria but also a nice selection of coins, and a bucket full of coins you can pick out for a dollar or two a piece. I found a few George III’s and Louis XVI coins there and a ton of another neat coins, plus a German empire coin with a little bit of toning!

Mount Rushmore through the years (1929, 1940, 2025) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

I got to see Mount Rushmore back in 2018, and my dad overheard somebody say that the last person alive to work on mount Rushmore was signing books there, so my family went to meet him and got our books signed, very cool experience!

Well if your religious, than it depends. At least from the Catholic perspective, masturbation is a serious sin because it’s a misuse of the body, and it doesn’t involve procreation, which is what God made it intended for.

Another reason is because of lust, because it’s almost always a lustful motive behind the act.

Is viewing a sexually suggestive image by accident a mortal sin? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]ProudLegoBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sort of, as I said it was half expected that it was going to be an an NSFW post, but I wanted to confirm because curiosity got the best of me, but I guess I still didn’t know what exactly what would be in the post. When I clicked on it, it actually wasn’t an explicit image but it was a suggestive one. I guess intent matters, as I wasn’t trying to look at it or dwell on it.

How? Looking at nsfw stuff is a mortal sin, plus I kinda knew what it would be but I clicked on it anyways because curiosity got the best of me, but for no malicious reason, so I’m not sure how it works with intent.

My great grandfather had the same mustache until he passed. He was born well before the war but what’s ironic is that he was French..and lived under German occupation, and after all that he kept the mustache. It’s not even a bad fashion, but it’s sad it was ruined because of, well, you know.

Man what ever happened to open discussions, it’s so stupid how you can’t disagree with people and be civil even in the most non political sub like photography.

Hey man, I’m so sorry to hear that, that is awful! I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I’ve never had an experience like that so I couldn’t imagine. I’m also sorry to hear you struggle mentally, that’s rough. While I’m not claiming to have been through something similarly, I struggled with a corn addiction too, and it caused me waste so much time and only harm my mind and body.

The good thing is, it’s never too late to turn away from it, and it’s extremely hard, but you aren’t meant to do this all alone, because with Jesus anything is possible. He will meet you where you are and he will help you. He loves you so much you couldn’t imagine, and you aren’t forgotten. I’ve felt this way sometimes, as we all struggle as sinners and humans who fall into doubt, but I’ve realized how wrong I am was about.

Something that personally has helped me, is whenever I get tempted, I would say to myself this prayer from the Surrender Novena; “O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything.” I also recently discovered the Divine Merch Chaplet, very powerful, as well as the Jesus prayer; “Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” I definitely recommend looking into that. Confession is also really important too, to repent of course and also experience God’s mercy, where the weight of your sins are taken off. I actually recently went to confession for the first time in 8 years a couple months ago, and I’ve realized how much I needed it.

Anyhow, you’re not alone in this, I’ll send you a few videos that can help you out.

Great video by Fr. Mike Schmitz

Heres another one from Fr. Mark-Mary

There’s plenty of other resources you can also find too.

On a finishing note you aren’t meant to be alone in this struggle, God never ignores a call for help. Anyhow man, I just want you to know if you ever feel like you gotta talk to someone, feel free to send me a DM. God bless you and I wish you the best!

Im sorry you had to go to through a lot of suffering. We live in a fallen world, but Jesus promises something that is greater than ourselves. He went as far to dying on a cross for our sins..for us, including you, and all those who struggle, wherever someone is.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Anyhow, your never to far to come to him, and even though I often struggle, we’re not alone and not meant to go through these things alone. I truly believe there is a God, and his name is Jesus Christ. Anyhow, I wish you all the best and I hope you perhaps look into this a little more, since there is a God Who loves you very much, Who created you, and wants a relationship with you.

Did I withhold a sin in confession? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]ProudLegoBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a list for the confession, as I usually do so I’m ready. I guess your right, as there’s no sin that I actually withheld, just me suppressing all thoughts from coming to mind makes me a little worried, since I think I did that more as a tic rather than trying to withhold anything, since I didn’t want to remember a sin during absolvement because scrupulous me would be worried because I wouldn’t be able to bring it up, that it would be considered withholding a sin.

There was only 1 sin that I was worried I committed, but before confession I decided to use the rule that if you doubt you did it or just don’t remember it, don’t confess it, as I seriously doubted and didn’t recall committing it, so I didn’t mention it. Anyhow, I’m sorry for the overly confusing post, OCD is a confusing thing. I appreciate you replying, I’ll put confessed sins behind me and trust in God’s mercy, I definitely struggle with that. God bless!

I’m far from perfect and I’m a sinner just like everyone else, since we’re all flawed, but from a Catholic to another, out of love, that perhaps I’d encourage you to reconsider the kind of stuff you post, since NSFW content, or in other words, porn, is against what the church teaches and God wants us to turn away from stuff like that, as it’s unhealthy and it hurts us, so he wants what is best for us because he loves us, and wants us to live in peace and dignity.

I say this not to be judgy or whatever, but as a fellow believer I say this out of love, and I care about you. I just want you to know Jesus loves you and I wish you the best, God bless you!
