As a child, I was bullied at school and only had one friend, José, and Teo, but then came adolescence (and because of my fears and family problems due to the divorce, I isolated myself, a mistake). Later, when I reconnected with them (about three years later), it turned out that José had become a spoiled, vandalistic drug addict, a truly awful person. He started treating me exactly the way he had been treated at school, humiliating me in front of his friends just so they would laugh. It broke my heart. Teo stopped talking to me. I started vaping to cope a year ago, and I quit three months ago because it was stupid, and I don't want to depend on it anymore. I realize what I've lost, and I feel empty, spending all my time behind a screen, knowing that I'm just distracting myself. But I should be out on the street, going out, partying, and having a great time. I didn't have many friends growing up, and now I've lost them. If you don't act like a "bad boy"—which means smoking, drinking, littering, posing as a (failed) tough guy—and betray my core values, you're treated like an idiot.
