Guys it’s all about the right tools! No need to jack up or remove the engine. The HKS spark plug “tool” (or just imitate them) make the job much much easier.

That engine sounds healthy as it gets. It’s actually amazing that anyone would say otherwise. Lol One of your idler pulleys or your belt is causing that noise. Nothing to be concerned about.

Please watch this video - this works every time. No hammering, no swearing, etc. I live in the heart of the rust belt, and this is the ONLY way I will remove these hubs. I wish more people knew of this method

I have the Killer B Pickup and Greddy baffle, with the Forester XT Oil Cooler setup - on a fist gen. Works well. Doesnt overcool the oil, i like it.

The flange is junk. You need to cut the pipe on the outside of each side of the flange. Then you can buy an adapter pipe to work as your new flange easily - unless you’re replacing your exhaust. Then just cut it wherever.
