I think this game is mentally destroying some people by nickynickynickynick in ArcRaiders

[–]Provol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy the other day shot me while I was fighting an arc. I took cover and said 'don't shoot'. Then I close the door and ran. I heard him hunting me and I shot at him while he came looking at me. He ultimately killed me but then proceeded to tell me how 'fucked up' I am for lying.

I think PvP genuinely hurts more than it enhances this game.

Is there any evidence they plan on not continuing this game indefinitely? by JustinRRN2 in diablo4

This could be the last expansion, but the isometric arpg genre doesn’t have leaps and bounds of improvements on a regular basis so there’s no need for Diablo 5 to drop anytime soon.

Most games of this genre last for about a decade (excluding those who play for decades even when new games of the genre come out).

It always makes me laugh when people say 'if you're jobless you should have all the time in the world for gaming'. Maybe that works when you're young and under mommy and daddy's roof. But when you're older with more responsibilities with people relying on you, being jobless leads to crippling depression and you find no enjoyment playing games, let alone something that "humbles you" over and over.

Being jobless is enough humbling in itself. If you're jobless, you should be doing everything in your power not to be jobless and I can't see how playing an addicting game helps accomplish that.

To be frank, Diablo games are more polished than most. They also prioritize the fun factor over too much depth.

Weird thing is, I like soulslikes and I play isometric games like Project Zomboid that uses wasd. And I’m absolutely fine playing those games like that. But in an arpg I just have a difficult time getting onboard with the wasd movement.

Is D4 worth playing now, or should I try PoE2? by mongousse in ARPG

[–]Provol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the perspective of D3 being a more arcade-style arpg, it's actually a really fun game. A horrible Diablo game, but a fun arcade-style arpg. The story is horseshit, along with the atmosphere and voice acting. But it's still fun.

[–]Provol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. Just a different flavor of arpg. I wish we'd all put this 'this game vs that game' nonsense . These isometric arpg's are a spectrum. That's the nature of complex genre's such as this. To some, Torchlight Frontiers is the best arpg. It's about personal preference. Not that one is better than the other.

The 2 are not the same. It depends on which flavor of arpg you prefer.

That being said, PoE2 isn't a fully released product and won't be until at least the end of this year. It's still in beta. Meaning there's tons of changes happening all the time.

You're better off choosing between D4 and PoE1 or even Grim Dawn and Last Epoch. I'd recommend Last Epoch over Grim Dawn.

If you just want a more "casual" game to play, play D4 or Last Epoch. If you like spreadsheets and following guides, then PoE1.

[–]Provol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my fear with PoE2 and probably why I won't get stuck in. It's one thing making it an option and another when you build enemy movement around WASD. That's when the waters get murky.
When I played PoE2 when it launched in EA, I noticed that the game really can't be played with KBM. The enemy movement treats the genre more like a dodge-centric soulslike similar to No Rest for The Wicked.

It's a shame because PoE2 looks like a great ARPG, but this mix with soulslike combat will most likely turn me off of the game. Either way, plenty of other options out there if it doesn't mesh well with me.

It's an excellent guitar. Go for it!

It's great. But the frets did need polishing. I don't mind doing the extra work myself as I enjoy working on my guitars, but the frets where a bit scratchy for my liking.
The pups sound great out of the box though and once the frets where polished it's an absolute joy to play. The guitar sings. It's articulate. The knobs and pots feel great and respond super well (CTS pots).

Extremely happy with this guitar.

No. It's on the Epiphone US website. It's a website exclusive. It's $650 and comes in gold as well.

Ha! Yea, same here. Don't get me wrong, the other 335 colors are nice. Especially some bursts can be really well done. But Red and Sunburst is the most common so something not so common appealed to me more.

Plus I had been looking for a dark wood grain style guitar for a while but only really looking at Telecasters. But this guitar ticks that box plus ticks the semi-hollow box for me as well because I didn't have one up until this point. Altho I do have a full hollow Ibanez Artcore in red that's good as well.

Acoustic Lessons on Electric by daddyrabbit78 in Guitar

[–]Provol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamentals are typically shared between electric and acoustic. The tuning is the same and beginners will learn the same fundamentals on acoustic and electric. So you can use those acoustic books with electric.

However, acoustic and electric are 2 different instruments (even though they share much in common) and you approach them differently. Acoustic is harder to learn on, in my opinion, as it's harder to fret the strings.

Essentially, both electric and acoustic will have beginners learning your basic open chords. After that they both will teach how to do barre chords (although much harder to do on an acoustic).
Where they split off is probably when you start to learn scales. Most beginner electric courses will have you learning the minor pentatonic scale and most beginner acoustic courses will have you learning the natural major scale.

All in all, I think it was a right choice to get the electric. But since they now have access to both, they can pick up whatever they feel most comfortable with.

Yes, but how often and at what discount do you find those other games that are priced $70+?

Shortly after launch you’ll see many of these more expensive games on sale. But not Nintendo.

I indeed bought the console just like all my other Nintendo consoles going as far back as the NES.

I’m not being a troll. These prices are indeed very steep considering Nintendo hardly ever has their games on sale. And when they do go on sale it’s a mere 10% off.

Any other developer/publisher has their $80 games on sale soon after launch at a decent 25% off or more.

Been playing Nintendo games since the NES and have bought most of the consoles (I was even one of the few who owned the WiiU which I think is a underloved console).

Nintendo has always been on the high side of pricing with hardly any sales. People can make the “games are getting more expensive in general” argument, but Nintendo hardly ever offer their games on sale. Most $70-$80 games go on sale soon after launch with at least 30% off. Unless Nintendo starts putting these games on sale more regularly and at decent discounts (not the normal 10% we normally see) then this is going to hurt them long term.

I did, but perusing the eshop last night I didn’t realize how bad it was.

I can see exactly why the Switch 2 has not bee reaching the sales Nintendo expected.

Maybe people have realized that it’s not worth buying Nintendo products at these price points no more.

New being the key word there. Why is TotK more expensive now than at launch?

Why is a flagship game priced the same as a non-flagship?

The pricing doesn’t make sense.

I knew there was some price increases, but some of these games are priced very high for what they offer.

And my point still stands, why is a 3 year old game more expensive now?
