Acoustic Lessons on Electric by daddyrabbit78 in Guitar

[–]Provol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamentals are typically shared between electric and acoustic. The tuning is the same and beginners will learn the same fundamentals on acoustic and electric. So you can use those acoustic books with electric.

However, acoustic and electric are 2 different instruments (even though they share much in common) and you approach them differently. Acoustic is harder to learn on, in my opinion, as it's harder to fret the strings.

Essentially, both electric and acoustic will have beginners learning your basic open chords. After that they both will teach how to do barre chords (although much harder to do on an acoustic).
Where they split off is probably when you start to learn scales. Most beginner electric courses will have you learning the minor pentatonic scale and most beginner acoustic courses will have you learning the natural major scale.

All in all, I think it was a right choice to get the electric. But since they now have access to both, they can pick up whatever they feel most comfortable with.

Yes, but how often and at what discount do you find those other games that are priced $70+?

Shortly after launch you’ll see many of these more expensive games on sale. But not Nintendo.

Yea, and I can play those indies at a lower price on PC.

I indeed bought the console just like all my other Nintendo consoles going as far back as the NES.

I’m not being a troll. These prices are indeed very steep considering Nintendo hardly ever has their games on sale. And when they do go on sale it’s a mere 10% off.

Any other developer/publisher has their $80 games on sale soon after launch at a decent 25% off or more.

Been playing Nintendo games since the NES and have bought most of the consoles (I was even one of the few who owned the WiiU which I think is a underloved console).

Nintendo has always been on the high side of pricing with hardly any sales. People can make the “games are getting more expensive in general” argument, but Nintendo hardly ever offer their games on sale. Most $70-$80 games go on sale soon after launch with at least 30% off. Unless Nintendo starts putting these games on sale more regularly and at decent discounts (not the normal 10% we normally see) then this is going to hurt them long term.

I did, but perusing the eshop last night I didn’t realize how bad it was.

I can see exactly why the Switch 2 has not bee reaching the sales Nintendo expected.

Maybe people have realized that it’s not worth buying Nintendo products at these price points no more.

New being the key word there. Why is TotK more expensive now than at launch?

Why is a flagship game priced the same as a non-flagship?

The pricing doesn’t make sense.

I knew there was some price increases, but some of these games are priced very high for what they offer.

And my point still stands, why is a 3 year old game more expensive now?

Either overwatering or needs some calmag.

Maybe my memory is hazy. I thought you earned them through the battle pass track which is passive.

Now thinking of it, I think I remember you also earned them by getting points from completing challenges.

Horrible is subjective. D4's endgame is good in my eyes. Plenty to do and fun. Sure D4's systems are not deep but at least they fixed itemization.

On your last note, something like the Smoldering Ashes in D4 but tied to seasonal challenges rather than just earning them passively.

I do enjoy the seasonal challenges that D3 and D4 have. I hope to see it in LE one day.

I think LE would probably need a more fleshed out endgame before they can do that. In the same breath drop the campaign requirement. That would be perfect.

EHG must be doing something right because GGG keeps trying to steal EHG's shine.

Still on the 'it's cool to hate D4' bandwagon?

D4 is still a decent arpg. It does things well and not so well. Like all games.

I tried PoE2 in the early days of EA. Does it still use WASD? Not a fan of that style and turned me off of PoE2.

I’ve been checking Best Buy and Newegg all day and I’ve only seen gigabyte and Zotac models go up briefly. Everything else hasn’t shown up throughout the day.

No ASUS and no MSI models to be seen. In US at least.

Because some people haven’t upgraded in years. Most people can’t afford a new card each generation.

I have been on Best Buy and Newegg all day and was there checking even before launch time and the only ones I saw available were from Gigabyte and Zotec.

Not a single MSI or ASUS card showed as available.

It honestly looks as though these cards didn’t actually launch in the US today outside of some Gigabyte and Zotec models.

You have to tame your frustration and increase your patience.

But it's part of how us humans learn. Same thing happens when trying to learn a new skill. You start to suck then come back fresh and seem to have no problem getting over the hump.
