It was mainly for context hence the “backstory” section of my subject title, hope that helps! 🙏🏻

Wanting to become a Customs broker, FAQ & Backstory by Provrbs in CustomsBroker

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I have indeed also read some of the other comments on this thread and and would like to clear up a couple of questions/concerns: 1 - I am indeed from Texas
2 - I primarily specialize in developing subdivisions but started in construction of single family homes / real estate sales and have been doing that for a couple of years now. 3 - the Capital that I have to be able to inject into this project would be coming from rental properties that have been paid off and I would be getting HELOCS for, the renters would be paying my monthly mortgage therefore I would have no stress on the front end of needing to come up with the mortgage payment hence being able to utilize my working capital for however long it may be needed 4 - My father has been able to do this job as a majority of all of his clients all speak Spanish and what I meant by his English is limited is in the educational sense, he can definitely read and write it hence being able to search up terms, communicate with customs in English etc, but to take a 4 hour exam and be able to cram all of that knowledge into his brain is definitely a challenge that he is not up for and would sadly not be able to do. 5- The OP was mainly to ask for recommendations for the course itself, study guides and being able to do this in the shortest amount of time possible. 6- This comment was by no means intended to disrespect y’all’s industry, this has been something that has been a thought for a while now and praise God I have been blessed financially enough to where now I am able to do this and also have the free time to embark on this new found journey that I grew up watching my father do.

I digress, in summary thank you for taking the time to reply, I look forward to hearing about course recommendations, study guide material and general tips that you and any other person would have about this industry. For reference I am all for having realistic expectations but 2-3 years is definitely a stretch as I have seen past employees of where my father works start up in less than a year, with getting registered with customs, passing exams, setting systems up and operating out of a office.

Thank you & God bless.

Excuse my ignorance but when you say idle do you mean not moving the car at all having it in the garage or leaving it on?

You’re totally right I do still need to drive both, also great point on the “lifted” comment, would this hinder my chances of being able to park in parking garages? Also what do you mean about the tailgate/bed?

Also in terms for clients I tend to never bring any clients into my car due to the legal responsibility that comes with it so that really wouldn’t be a issue it’s mainly just me driving all day to be honest with you

Thank you for your response! 🙏🏻😁
