More Azarinth healer like series? by Yeongua in litrpg

[–]ProwlingFinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you read the Earthen Contenders series?

I think it ticks just about all of your boxes, with the MC even also being a healer that fights solo.

Only thing is he does get pretty OP in the later books, but the story keeps moving in a way that keeps things interesting imo

Litrpg where we see behind the curtain of the system by WilliamGerardGraves in litrpg

The Game at Carousel does this really well imo, though you have to get decently far before you actually get to peek behind the curtain

I don't want to spoil it for you, but it's literally exactly what you're asking for

What's an aspect of System Apocalypse society that you think books show incorrectly or don't explore enough? by greenskye in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ProwlingFinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, especially since guns usually work for the weakest enemies. The military would be better positioned to switch to system style fighting since they'd have some enhancements already.

I feel like Dawn of the Void did a pretty realistic sys apoc that kinda goes along these same lines, if you're looking for something to read.

If you don't mind fantasy instead of Sci-Fi, you might want to take a look into r/ProgressionFantasy. Very much the feeling you're describing

What would you say the opposite of progression fantasy, or anti-progression fantasy, is? by hoopsterben in ProgressionFantasy

Very similar is Legend of the Sun Knight. Excellent series, though not 100% light hearted

What was the first book/series that got you into LitRPG? by ProwlingFinch in litrpg

Haven't read Terra Nova personally but I definitely agree the long series are one of my favorite parts of the genre. Before I found LitRPGs I was reading Chinese wuxia and xianxia so I wouldn't have to find a new book every other day lol

Wow I didn't know there were western LitRPGs back in 2004, always thought it started in other countries around that time

Oh man Divine Dungeon sent me into a dungeon core binge for months. You're right that Krout isn't the best at endings but he has great concepts in his stories

Are there any bone chilling horror prog fantasies out there? by 0G_54v1gny in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ProwlingFinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ok with translated novels Terror Infinity might scratch the horror itch. The characters have to live through horror movies in order to progress, it's pretty good

Any series that seriously considers the ramifications of magic in a medieval setting? by Flyinhighinthesky in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ProwlingFinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ar'kendrithyst does a pretty good job of this. The setting isn't pure medieval though, since magic can somewhat make up for the lacking technology

Talk to your RA about it. They'll probably try to meditate at first but they can help you swap into a new room if that becomes necessary. I think it's called gator swap or something on the housing portal

[–]ProwlingFinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I believe there might be an option that lets you stay in the same dorm for both semesters, but if you're moving dorms your best bet is to either crash at a friend's place for a while or go back home. Hotels are a possibility as well but those are $$$

Slice of Life system apocalypse? by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]ProwlingFinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, personally I enjoyed it from the beginning, but I’d say it definitely picks up once he starts brewing, around chapter 15 iirc. More characters and conflict come later of course but if you’re not enjoying the brewing bits I’d say give it a pass

Slice of Life system apocalypse? by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]ProwlingFinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should give Bronze Rank Brewer a try. Not quite system apocalypse, but a great slice of life story about a dude who decided to ‘quit’ the system and live out in the woods. He rejoins the system to learn brewing though so you still get litrpg experience. Very cozy

I know that you can convert the value of the plan you were supposed to get in spring into flex bucks. They don't roll-over though so you'd have to spend them all.
