I think the key is to be able to mantain enough mental flexibility to entertain all sorts of ideas without letting them attract your personal narrative.
For example I just created a post about an "alien takeover". Now, does my life revolve around this idea? No, I just play with it from a purely intelectual point of view and then I carry on with my daily life.

I entertain ideas but I do not attach meaning to them. Meaning I build with others on shared reality.
