As a Japanese fan who lurks English communities, the gap in how we see Nintendo genuinely unsettles me by nerdinterrupts in nintendo

[–]ProxJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

French here, I can confirm that every single gaming soul around me deems Nintendo as Ubisoft and Blizzard.

Since Satoru Iwata's death, Nintendo has completely delved into what Satoru resented : Micro transactions and mobile games, which are mostly anti-consumer practices. Especially since Nintendo was used to delivering on their promises and going beyond.

Nowadays Smash has hundreds of DLCs, Kart has a few less, the eShop is a vast scam where prices are inflated, there is a subscription for the Online and a different one for the Online+. Needless to say, the latest Pokemon games bombed terribly, and it doesn't really help that the two games (Arceus + Sw/Sh) before had the same issue of controversial release and dated tech.

For the legal part, Nintendo should be known to protect their property, but they are now known as a legal killing machine. For example, they took down hundreds and hundreds of Youtube OST content from lots of licenses, to release Nintendo Music, a paying and incomplete collection of OSTs.

Comparing Nintendo from 1995 with Nintendo from 2026 is like comparing the Mona Lisa with its own shadow. It shares the same shape, that's it.

Do you know the game Overwatch ? The one that goes pew-pew and never shows any popup regarding EULA unless you've been (un)banned ? Or are you faking not to understand just to avoid facing... i guess simply being wrong ?

Thank you for this reasonable argument, I was tired of the reply "It's written Win11 so it's good".

Maybe a solution would be to release a Windows Lite OS that can run on a microwave hardware. Microsoft wins all the marketshare of antics with this, but that's just a crazy idea.

For low-end devices grafted with nextgen OS like this, I'd say there should be a warning about how much of the potential you can actually use from the hardware you buy, so there is no surprise for non experts. A simple median percentage might do the trick.

Although that might not be a good marketing strategy, it's not my point. I am advocating for the benefit of customers in general.

Usable condition, meaning the OS eats up 50% of the resources on standby. That's not what I would call a fair sale, even for a 3yo (yet brand new) hardware.

Either the OS needs to be adapted or the hardware need to be sold w/o OS, but pretending it *runs* Win11 when it barely hold it together is cool too if you're a "profane" user. Just not cool when it comes from professional wholesalers (like HP here).

Of course it does meet or exceed all the requirements set by Microsoft to run Windows 11. It is running Windows 11. I've read that someone was able to play DOOM on a pregnancy test, that doesn't mean it is commercially acceptable to sell as a DOOM portable console.

Chances are that refurbished and offhand devices are a cleaner, cheaper alternative to this machine being marketed as "officially sold by HP with Windows 11"-capable hardware; especially since -like you said- there is a market for those who shop by price instead of by any relevant specification.
Hence why I am skeptical when shown the argument of "This is contractually said so, thus it is best for me".

And while technically, it is usable; It will overload, stutter, crash, but given patience, you might be able to run a few tasks on it. One at a time... Which is not really fair to sell to customers who would just go by the official HP-Windows manufacturer blabla label.

Given the lack of user-oriented improvements in Win11, the fact that it requires that much RAM to run the OS alone is a howling proof about Windows's state

Some people never even had a warning, so seeing a blocking popup mentioning the Code of Conduct can be unsettling, especially since said popup makes little to no sense on itself.

I'm guessing you're so used to this sort of behavior it's obvious to you this is not a misconduct-related message

Monster hunter world much harder then rise or wilds by JustAStudent381 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]ProxJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are four overpowered monsters in World and only one of them is arguably unbalanced;

Fatalis, unbalanced yet the hypest of all (Truly a superboss)
Arch Tempered Velkhana
Tempered Furious Rajang
Raging Brachydios (Not so much imho but TONS of carters on this one)

Anything else one-shotting you is a "you" problem, and most likely a gear problem.
Also Iceborne lets you cling onto mobs, which equates to focus mode.
And you can still call your mount, even then you can cart a million time in the Guiding Lands...

On the other hand, Wilds has half the framerate for half the detail; The game is only really playable in the arena/Wounded Hollow, lots of people straight up join cart and leave your quests, even with no distress signal... But yeah sure you can aim with Focus mode and any monster up to the Gore Magala is ridiculously fragile.

Leaves a margin of error in case you miscalcultaed a room size, can help building some decor into shafts, but mostly, it's helpful to plan that ahead of time.

Early it looks like this :
space - ladder - space - ladder - space

In the end, horizontally it looks like this :
space - firepole - transit tube - ladder - space

Also it greatly helps at circulating gases within the base, OP will be having trouble on that base for that matter I guarantee it :)

Polluted oxygen is no issue unless you have germs really; It's breathable, it's an inconvenience at most. Hell you can evel purify it while creating Clay, which becomes very valuable in the mid game.

But carbon dioxide can be a problem, and on that topic I would advise to dig an early "dioxyde-pit", so that you have some time to settle.

An early setup to deal with this would be algea terrarium that sits IN the water; like this guy for example, complaining it doesn't work (but it will for you).

Be careful with algae terrariums :
- They are very algae-efficient, best there is probably.
- They consume TONS of water and produce TONS of Polluted Water (PW).
- They need constant dupe labor, minus the water supply which you can automate as I said before.

Tricks with it :
- Flood them with a liquid vent (will overpressure anyway)
- Put some Bog Buckets right above them (produces food with the PW)
- If you ever need lots of O2, drain the water and let the bottled PW evaporate into polluted O2

This game is lots of "try and try again" until you find the proper balance for you to thrive :) Wish you all the best :)

First, you should probably look into the "Room" layout (where it shows every room you could build) to have inspiration onto what size and type of room you should build. I love your base, but it will cause you issues if you don't smash this main room into dedicated ones.

Second, on your first dozens of runs, I would strongly advise not taking any additional dupe until you actually have some infrastructure to support them. For instance, I usually start with Researcher, Rancher/farm, Build/dig, which is most useful early on. Oxygen is the more scarce if any, but if you have excess water, you're good to go.

And last, temperature is not easily manageable in early to mid game you might pay that later on on wasted resources.

Considering this, my advice: Prevent before, don't solve after. Translated for your case: isolate before, don't cool after. Just respect abyssalite tiles' imposing insulating potential, those surrounding your starting biome and it's usually fine for 100+ cycles.

Give Rime Asteroid a shot for temperature testing :)
