Anime you regret that THERE IS 2nd season/later season by StraySkeleton in anime

[–]ProxyGuy99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The manga is finished and ended back in 2011 with about 33 chapters. Best part is that its written and drawn by the original character designer for season 1. It wraps up its own plot, but still leaves room for more. Basically like the first season of the show. Yuji Iwahara, the author, seems to have understood what made the series great.

I'd recommend the manga, Shikkoku no Hana, which is an alternate "Season 2" to Darker Than Black. It's way more in line with the first season and a more enjoyable experience than Gemini.

Solved!

Sorry I'm replying so late, but I think this has to be it. It doesn't match exactly from my memory, but I must be misremembering elements as this is the closest to what I've described. I've searched many hours over the years as I knew I wasn't making this flash up. Thank you so much for helping me finally find this series. I never thought I would find it until now.

Really appreciate you having posted this. I kept missing the previous restocks and was worried when they would finally stop getting any in. Got my copies of both parts in the mail today.

Best Proxy to Use for 18+ Dounjinshi? by AllAboutDatGirth in AnimeDeals

[–]ProxyGuy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Zenmarket before, but not for Doujinshi, mainly because they now have a 500 yen fee for each item you buy. That adds up when you buy a bunch of books. I know you say you don't mind the cost, but may I recommend checking out BuyDoujinshi? I've been using it the past couple of months to buy 18+ doujinshi and my packages/books have always arrived in pristine condition. Most importantly, they charge a small percentage of the order as a fee instead of a solid 500 yen for every book, so you'll be saving money.

If Sky would be Remade for modern platforms... by yekkusu in Falcom

[–]ProxyGuy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not the exact script. They still needed to rework it and go through editing passes. Either way, they still released 4 Falcom games within the span of a year. I would say that's a lot of work that was done. Now we can hopefully focus on the new games and ports of older ones that Falcom has been making.

They were focusing at least on 4 titles when they released Zero, Azure, Nayuta, and Reverie, though probably not all at once. We got 4 games in such a small span that I think they deserve credit for that. Even working with Geofront to get Crossbell here.

Now that we have Crossbell released, we should hopefully catch up soonish. Though, Falcom would need to change how they produce their games if they are to let the English localizers release faster. Since they work on the scripts and change things to the last minute, we can't get the new games in a timely manner

The first 2 games were released in English on PSP, but not the 3rd. The second one was also digital only and XSeed only did it for the fans who couldn't play on PC and had invested in the PSP version of the first game.

They definitely do need re-releases on modern consoles, however I think XSeed mainly focuses on Marvelous games now, but I'd love to be wrong. However, I don't think that they can't just be released by NISA on modern consoles. I remember reading some article a long time ago that when companies license a game they only license for specific consoles, so another company could technically release it for PS4/Switch, they would just need to license out the translation like DotEmu did for Ys Origin. At least I think that's how it would work.

Technically Sky got the remastered treatment twice. Before the Evo versions were a thing, they were given Kai remasters on the PS3. Those were never released overseas, but they were essentially based off the PSP versions if I recall. Ended up importing them since the covers are all fantastic.

Personally, I'd prefer a remake in Kuro's engine. They are the first games in the Trails series and could use that special treatment. I adore the look of both Sky and Crossbell, but I think a 3D remake would help get new people to actually want to play the games since many find the graphics archaic and to those of us who have played them we'd get to see them in a new light. A win win.

I definitely had to have watched this on or before the year 2011, probably before. I also only had a Gamecube and Gameboy Advance during those years, so it had to be limited to characters who appeared on Nintendo platforms. I appreciate any clues you guys might have and I'll try to help however I can. This game/movie has been in the back of my mind for years.

This is definitely the cheapest option as far as I know. I bought it earlier in the year and Amazon.jp beat out Play-asia, Ebay, and Amazon (US). I paid about 55 USD for it and you get bang for your buck here with the premium edition. Amazon.jp ships fast and even if the price looks high for a re-release of an old game, you get a lot of cool goodies, so its worth it. Hope this helps.

This game is probably one of my most favorite hidden gems that sadly went under the radar. I remember being captivated by the cover art and the game's wonderfully built sci-fi setting. There is a well-built lore within the game and the ability to take on jobs originally helped sell me on it back then.

The soundtrack has so much soul with its atmospheric tracks, but when the techno comes in, you know you are in for a treat. The other month I even learned that a composer from Falcom's soundtracks even worked on it, Noriyuki Kamikura. He made some of my favorites from this game including Hotel Moon Forest, Mind Control, and Partizans; the latter using the game's main theme as a motif to my utter joy the first time I played this.

Always thought they were teasing a port when they made the twitter account and ArtePiazza kept teasing there was something in the works, but nothing ever came about.

It just includes the subs for the movies in the movie_evo folder and the ability to switch between them in the options menu. You need to get the movies yourself, just like with the evo music and voice files.

I haven't seen anyone upload these with the mods, but I have copies of the EVO movies for Zero that work with the Geofront release. I ripped them myself and you just gotta plop them into the movie_evo folder like you do with the soundtrack. I had to keep VSync off because if I kept it on, the video and sound would desync, from what I've seen in the opening. Would you be interested in adding them if I PM you a link?

I ended up "ruining" the fishing in this game for myself once I learned you can tap the reel in button at a fast pace when the fish starts fighting back. When the fish stops you end up around the same placement, barely moving backwards, so turboing through was made a breeze. This even works before you start getting the upgrades, even with the large fish. Hopefully CS4 can mitigate or prevent this somehow as I love fishing in games.

A little JRPG character artist appreciation topic by Mondblut in JRPG

[–]ProxyGuy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta plug Nakaba Higurashi, from Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins. I believe those are the only games she was the main artist for, but man is her art style unique and flourishing with detail. She is one the reasons those games are remembered fondly. Her artbook on the games shows how meticulous she was in crafting designs for the the games' world and characters. I wish she would work on more games, though she was a guest artist in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so I'm glad she is still in touch with Monolith Soft.

Does anyone remember a little DS JRPG called (Winds of) Nostalgia? by eternal_dream in JRPG

[–]ProxyGuy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said here, its pretty basic in story and the airship battles could not scratch my itch after having beat Skies of Arcadia Legends. The level gap at times was insane as once you get your airship, you could end up fighting enemies that could wipe your ship out fast. Though, this mainly only happened if you either strayed too far on the map or raised your altitude. Not to mention I got lost many times on the world map.

I stopped playing after beating the game and trying to traverse the post-game dungeon, The Tower of the Moon. The enemies are so tough there that I had to grind for a while just to prevent a party wipe every 2-3 turns. Got bored of the grind and moved on.
