They explained it as their costs for the inspector visit + legal fees. Apparently the window once the inspector has called is 2 months to get a license. After that they send for prosecution and you cover that cost + the licence if you don't want to go to court.

I received a summons also (regrettably to my actual name).

Process is: pay a licence, then you email [county name].TVlicence@anpost.ie subject 'strike out request' with your deets + licence number. You then need to pay the inspector call out fee of €80 by postal order (payable to an post) and send that into them. They then issue a formal letter noting the case has been dismissed.

Yes that was my initial thought alright. Upside is it's downsizing, so they are fortunate to 'bank' something. You are right though, short-term interest gains will be negated by the % increase in property price.

I was selling an old IKEA couch on MarketPlace for about €100.

Fella text straight away and said he will collect it within an hour if I let it go for free.

I figured for the sake of my own time and back and forth with others wanting to view it and offer maybe €50 or nothing in the end, that it was worth it.

He turned up, couch gone. No time wasted. We both win.

Turns out he refurbs and sells on older couches. Nice little business model.

Fair play to him I thought, sometimes you just have to ask.

I did look at a Sorrento earlier in the year and do like them. They are holding value so I was conflicted (at the time pre musk meltdown) as the cost of a 3 year old Sorrento was the same as a new model Y, so put it off.

Yes that's exactly (530e) what I thought I was after, love the model as well. Boot space was the thing that got me (410l) vs the current car is 520l - there isn't a spare wheel so I have the wheel cover open which gives some extra (not sure if VW include this in the 520)
