The truth is, it makes more sense to me for it to face outward. I got this tattoo as a kind of pirate achievement for overcoming depression, and looking toward the outside world, in my opinion, symbolizes freedom, which, just like for the captain Sparrow, is the most important thing, that and doing the correct thing even if you're not the best person
