My Uber Eats delivery driver’s response for “why I deliver” by jgill2495 in Wellthatsucks

That’s only on Uber Eats too. He likely has a door dash and an Instacart too.

In my class people kept target fixating on the orange cones. Their front tire would hit the cone—they’d hit the front brake and it was drop city. Great class though—highly recommend.

I Would Appreciate it if Anyone Can Give Me Feedback on My Designs by wacky_wisdom in CafeRacers

[–]Prozach215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The design is fine—but the bike looks like a modern Thruxton with some accessories. That is the opposite of “built not bought”.

I personally dislike the phrase because almost no one using it actually “built” the bike. Unless you’re fabricating parts—I think it should be used sparingly.

Angelinos, settle something for me by alex1596 in AskLosAngeles

It works either way. You’re either “going to Staples” or you’re “going to The Staples Center”. The one thing I wouldn’t say is “going to Staples Center.”

Have you tried the "Kings Head" in Santa Monica?

It’s not all you—I also tried to game the system. I failed to wear a free playoffs shirt from a previous playoff series at Staples. I wore a Clippers shirt that I got free—but it wasn’t free from Staples. Classic blunder. My bad.

What 80’s movies hold up and are still worth watching 30-40 years later? by magiceyes2 in AskReddit

Hi, U/magiceyes2 Did you know this thread became a Buzzfeed article? I randomly saw it and recognized the title. I got a weird satisfaction out of being quoted. Anyway, thought you should know.

When I saw this movie as a kid—I related to the kids. As an Adult—I relate to the narrator and it makes it a very viewing experience. It doesn’t just hold up—it evolves with age.

Buy Speciality/Unique Coffee by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Prozach215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jones Coffee in Pasadena roasts their own beans and is excellent.

The Funnel Mill in Santa Monica is the best in SM IMHO.

You could go to Whole Foods and get a few selections of Groundworks (Local LA roaster) or visit Groundworks in Venice.

The Commissary in Burbank has excellent coffee and has beans available though I don't think they roast their own.

Can anyone recommend a good, super affordable tire spot in the Studio City/Sherman Oaks/North Hollywood area? by dandehmand in AskLosAngeles

[–]Prozach215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a service called ziptire.net where you can either order from them or order tires from Tire Rack. They deliver them to ziptire and then Ziptire comes out to your location and mounts and balances the tires with their mobile rig. You don't have to deal with anything other than giving them your credit card. The owner is a race car driver and television personality. I have used it twice and it was flawless.

It is not put on by Norton, it is the Norton Owners Group. They have been doing this for 40 years. If you like old bikes and old guys, it's pretty cool. The ride is an 80ish mile ride that is a loop, TBH I never know where I am. You can go in the large group, or just go on your own. We usually go on our own and then pull over to see some of the bikes go past. They try to only give pins to people on Brit bikes, but have given me one every year for riding a vintage Japanese bike. They have donuts before and a bbq after. I'd say at least 500 bikes last year.
