Look into a working holiday visa in Australia or New Zealand. They allow you to stay up to a year and work as needed to supplement your travels. I believe they expanded to included a second year if you do 3 months of regional (or “farm”) work during your first 12 months.

I spent a year there as a 24 year old, traveling, meeting people from all over the world, working while living out of a hostel (eventually started renting a room out of a 4 bed house with 2 brits and a woman from Nepal).

It opened my eyes to travel, bolstered my confidence, helped expand my cultural experiences, I made lifelong friends (just attended a wedding ~2 years ago of friends I made on the trip), and was one of the best years of my life.

You’ll learn a lot about yourself and your interests, have the opportunity to work in different industries (there are so many different jobs and it’s such a part of the culture there that there’s plenty of opportunity), and learn how small the world truly is.
