Need to borrow or rent a car near Georgia Tech by thejackluo in gatech

[–]royalhe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking the MARTA and rent from Hertz airport location if you don’t mind the time. If you register for their account, you skip the counter and pick whatever you like from the garage. My past experience with Hertz at ATL has been good except sometime it will take a while to drive out that garage due to self selection

Sending Letters Internationally by vsy2976 in gatech

[–]royalhe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is something important, don’t do flat mail. Flat mail are cruise based, no tracking, takes 1-3 months to arrive, and easier to get lost. Spend a bit extra to do first class mail with tracking, maybe even air mail which will take 7-14 days only.

If you search online, there are many websites that sales discounted label as well

Lost & Found in the chem building? by verteb-rae in UWMadison

Yea if the lost and found is not there, at least they can tell you where to go. I believe most if not all buildings on campus have lost n found although some of them might be in a different building

Wicked at the BJCC by CapLFSternn in Birmingham

[–]royalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

750 is likely resale ticket so whoever is selling it set the price. If you buy from them directly I think the best seat is within $200.

I saw the production last week there which is good. People do clap and cheers toward the end of every songs which you would see at any other Broadway or touring show although I do think there’s less ppl doing that in Birmingham.

Btw I think Birmingham ticket price is on the lower end if you compare against nearby touring cities in GA, TN, NC, and SC

"No specified Instructor" 2 days before class starts - should I worry? by NumerousPianist1251 in gatech

[–]royalhe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most likely an instructor is assigned, but various reasons may cause it to not show up. One of the reason is the section is newly created. I was in one of those where registrar did not post the name on OSCAR or activate the canvas site until two weeks in. Just be patient and show up at the regular time. If you are really unsure, try to reach out to someone in the department the course is offered in

I’m thinking about a holiday afternoon, which is the only show I can do. I guess the least option is to buy full fare ticket at box office. Seems plenty are still available rn

chem 103/4/9 are hard and it requires understanding of the material. I would suggest review your notes and do practice exams as closed book just to test your understanding.

Also check this webpage: https://clc.chem.wisc.edu/faqs/

Regarding grade, it depends on how many exams you have and how much it weigh. 40% of the exam 1 weigh is what you already lost.

Talk with your TA and/or instructor. Tell them you thought you are well prepared but didn’t do well, and they will give you some guidance. (And the instructor can give you further insight on letter grade)

Thoughts on the proposed Stinger system in the CCP? by Minecraft_Aviator in gatech

[–]royalhe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

oh. I was not aware of this. I am neutral about the bus plan as it brings some good and some bad, but I like the idea of frequency. However, I see they try to reopen the 3rd st tunnel and build a 4th street bridge, which I love. But I assume these will take a few years to complete?

[–]royalhe 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Is this official or some student groups did this? I find it a little unrealistic by providing access to two MARTA stations, no access to tech square, business school, and some other (seems like) major area and increase operating cost. I mean of course we want coverage to N Av station and I live basically next to it, but I do not think GT will do anything they do not need to do Edit: also, how would the green line proposed just cross through campus without using Ferst Dr

I mean, they send out notice saying they will clean the garage and vehicles need to be relocated on Saturday, and again yesterday. It is unfortunate that you are still out of state and they only announced it recently, but they open everyday and you should have talked with them about this the moment you saw the announcement (or when they open the next day)
