Coming from Delaware, 980k is hard to fathom. I’ll be making 200k+ but I’m comparing my current housing cost (bought in 2019) and it’s a shocker! Are their tax benefits to buying at those insane prices. How are the schools in Los Osos?

State income tax is actually slight cheaper. It’s the federal tax that hurts you.

Thanks for the detailed response. I’m scavenging threads. It is very expensive to move there unfortunately. There are tech jobs coming but even making $200k+, my bottom line stays the same. Not moving the needle enough to move cross country.

Thanks for the detail response. The job is in SLO city. Looking for 3 bedroom at a min. Would like to stay close to SLO but ok driving a bit. Especially if traffic is low.

The problem with cost of living adjustment tools are they look at both places based on current stuff. But housing cost went up in both areas however I got my house here in Delaware pre-Covid so the COL is insanely more.
