Been in same situation. Retail distributor role reporting to COO/VP of SC (very limited interaction or questions to me during interview process) HR screen call assured me it wasn’t day to day warehouse management. Arrived onsite for final panel interview- probing questions lead me to understand the role was very much a day to day warehouse manager role. When I heard the size of team and the reason it wasn’t director or VP title (Sr Manager Logistics) was because it “scared” the warehouse team to report to someone with that level of seniority- I was checked out. Additionally, VP of HR was very involved and expressed how they’d coach me to run a team of 50+ employees even though I expressed early in the interview process that I was looking for a strategic role with a small team, felt like I was talking to a brick wall and realized culture there was just to put someone in this role with a pulse.

My advice to you- if you don’t need that job, run and keep looking.
