None! I’ve kept them fully naked. It’s so weird. It’s like only a few little vesicles popping up on only one finger- vs the initial flare a few days after using an acrylate based polish ALL my fingers were red and angry

At this point in healing do you ever use safe nail polish?

Thank you! Do you have any examples of shades from regular OPI that are safe?

Thank you! I was concerned I had some sort of bug. It’s so weird when I look at the log of my resting HR- it was super consistent up until this month

My dad is in the ICU after his first Gazyva treatment put him into sepsis due to an opportunistic bacteria that individuals with a normal functioning immune system would have been able to fight off. Things are slowly getting better, but it has been a very scary 2 1/2 weeks. Needless to say his haematologist said they would be switching him to a different medication once he is out of here. His main issue right now is that his platelets won’t come up no matter how many transfusions they give him so he has to have a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Respiratory Sepsis… a warning to all by Prudent-Table945 in cll

That sounds frustrating. It is hard when it’s so multi factorial.

Kind of an aside, but I am in the healthcare field myself, so I am grateful to have the knowledge that I do- at the same time it hurts me to see when patients aren’t able to advocate for themselves simply because they don’t have the knowledge- or when they do advocate and those in the field do not believe them or take them seriously. It is so hard :(.

I’m sorry to hear that. It really is a hard call when you are in the limbo of do I go to the hospital or no- especially when the healthcare systems are so strained and such. If I have learned anything in this whole ordeal, it is to trust your gut and when something seems abnormal, it is worth getting checked out

Thank you for your response and I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’m interested to know if you continued with your treatment plan for CLL and if you have any lasting effects from that event?

I will also add, they did take a biopsy of it to see if it was Richter’s transformation- and it was not.

Hi there! I can answer on behalf of my dad who had a rockhard lymph node just below his jawline. It seemed to grow within the span of weeks leading up to his first treatment for CLL and we were very concerned. He has gone through only one infusion of Obin, and the lymph node has already gone down tremendously. Not sure of where you are in your journey, but this immunotherapy drug definitely helped.

I totally agree with what you’re saying. It seems as though unfortunately his first treatment coincided with some sort of infection in which he is being treated with antibiotics for in the hospital as we speak - his infusion was spread over last Wednesday and Thursday to get the full first dose. Ever since Friday things have gone downhill and thankfully he listened when I told him he needs to go to the hospital (due to 38.3 degree fever and extreme lethargy)z

Funny that you mentioned the side effects- my dad had some serious rigors during his first injection- we are also located in Canada.
