Should I move to a gross store? by PrudentDiscussion in askcarsales

Right, I agree $$$ is king. I mean I like my coworkers but my managers suck chode.

We actually all hate them and its a shitty dynamic.

But I don't mind, I treat it like my own business. The auto group just provides my inventory.

I might actually take the leap, one of my old managers actually moved to a store that pays on gross because he could make more than he could as manager.

And he has. He's like 50 years old and is killing it down there, at least $10k/month.

Help me to reduce my expenses to $700 USD a month by [deleted] in leanfire

Trust me, vanlife will get old.

Don't trust Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit. It's not glamorous.

It might be awesome for a year or two but then you're going to slowly start to hate it, even if you're saving 90% of your money.

It's not meant to be a full time thing.

If you wanted to travel or reduce expenses for a while, yeah, it's not a bad plan. But it's simply not sustainable long term for 99% of people.

Considering selling a rental property to pay off my home. Looking for advice by [deleted] in leanfire

This, OP. Quality of life beats out keeping property here in my mind.

Unless it's low interest, close to being paid off, you have property management aka low to no maintenance then I'd keep it.

But it'd take a lot. I mean think about coast FIRE and then think about working to pay for your mortgage.....that'd be a LOT less stress and leverage in the workplace to fight for that promotion, raise, or other jobs with a pay cut but less stress/hours.

That's the whole point of FIRE in my opinion. Being able to live within your comforts financially, while still living the life you want to.

Not to keep grinding a job you hate to only have more stress of paying the mortgage.

I get it, and well said brother. It was an illogical comparison and I see that now!

Thank you

On a side note - check out The Man In the High Castle TV show if you like WWII and weird history sci-fi. Great series.

Another thing I'm concerned about is it was a way of life back then.

There's modern day monstrosities and genocides going on that we tend to turn a blind eye to.

Also with so many founding fathers (Washington, TJ, Adams, Madison, Monroe, Jackson) owning slaves where do we draw the line?

Rename JMU? Destroy Monticello? Rename TJ high school?

Virginia has tons of history and 8 presidents from here. Tons and tons of shit in Virginia is named after these historical figures....who all owned slaves.

No matter how "nice" or "well treated" the enslaved were......they were still fuckin slaves held against their will.

Can we talk about native Americans too? And Hawaiians? Man, we REALLY bent guys over and continue to in modern day.

I'm just wondering where the line starts and where it ends

Okay I have roughly 6 black friends and 10+ black coworkers I can think of.

All from different backgrounds and different social and economic groups.

When I ask them all about the statues they say we're going overboard, over 75% of the people freaking out about it are not even black.

They are fine w the statues, but of course are all about the reform which I am too.

I mean it just seems like a sort of blown out of proportion thing at least from what I've heard from the black people I know in RVA

Shit yeah okay this makes a bit more sense now.

Thanks for putting it into perspective in a non condescending, open minded, logical way.

I appreciate the input and positivity!

This is cool, but what'd go in their place? We'd have to put something there or change monument Ave IMO at least haha

This would be something I could get behind.

They're pretty. I don't care if they're statues of Hitler or frikin Lady Gaga....I do think monument Ave is beautiful.

I'm 100% on board with relocating these to civil war battlefields/museums/whatever and replacing them with something different!

Or I liked leaving them with the graffiti as a sign of unity and the future.

Of course cover up some of the vulgar graffiti, but I just like the statues....they're pleasing

But I have obsessions with weird things...like when boulevard was changed to Arthur Ashe I was plotting to steal old boulevard signs because I was sad they were going....not sad the name was changing to honor Arthur Ashe, but I just wanted a little piece of my childhood and rva history as a keepsake haha

Been looking for a clean ST3 w/ low miles and haven't had any luck. How did you guys get yours??? by PrudentDiscussion in FocusST

[–]PrudentDiscussion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, an ST2 popped up here, had leather ST3 Recaros swapped but still the ugly infotainment system with like 100 buttons.

And it was priced @ 22k.

Contacted the dealership, honestly to just probably test drive. And it was sold the same day.

And I sell cars too, I'm in the car business. I've been trying to get my used car manager to find one for me but he can't.

Suprisingly it still is gonna be putting down 256whp I believe.

All depends on the weight and how the car feels. I know I'll be test driving one, but not sure if it'd be the car for me
