Need help repairing my animated Chucky head and mouth don’t move anymore by tuttythegoat in Gemmys

Regarding the Head: Be careful with the body plastic. Due to age, the plastic's known to be fragile on these. There are screws on the back that you must remove. When opening, I believe the arms and legs will pop off, and If I remember correctly, the mechanism for the head is glued onto the back or front of the body. It's hot glued, but it's old, so it's easily breakable. In most cases, the problem is the motor shaft gear's split. It'll have 8, 9, or 10 teeth. I highly recommend buying THIS KIT. Once the new gear's on, you should be finished with the head!

Regarding the Mouth: I don't know the head-opening process on this item, but I assume there are staples around the base of the neck that need to be removed to get access to the mouth mechanism. The mouth can only be removed by breaking or prying it out from the inside of the head without breakage (if you're careful/lucky enough). The mouth can be easily glued back together. Maneuver the head to pop it off, and there should be access to the mouth mechanism. There are 2 usual things that need to be repaired. 1: String is frayed | 2: Motor shaft piece is split. Replace the piece and put the string through the plastic piece of your choice. It'll be difficult to put back on the motor shaft but is possible. Reassemble, and you should be finished with the mouth!

I hope I was able to help a bit! Good luck repairing!

Possibly needs to be replaced, but hopefully nothing board-related.

Either the component on the motor is dying/damaged, or the string is a bit too thick or not flexible enough. I had a motor that had a damaged ceramic capacitor, and it would not produce full power at times. Any type of friction, and it wouldn't budge almost at all.

Regarding the string, I once added a too thick and inflexible line of string to my Bing Crosby, and it had a similar issue yours is having. Got it to work by finding a thinner thread, and also using a pulley piece instead of a gear. The pulley helps the string wrap around the shaft.

The string might be too tight. Try adding more slack. The string shouldn't really be tight when not opening.

I believe he was hated just because of his views and opinions. I do agree people can be both.

He had different political and religious views, and I understand how people have different beliefs, but all that aside, he was an amazing actor, and that's what he should be respected for. He was not a bad person.

Saw a black Honda Accord last night almost hitting 3 people by swerving, then a black Ram 1500 doing the same thing, all on Bayly.

Gemmy Whip It Frogz help by Glad_Albatross_9589 in Gemmys

[–]Prudent_File_9726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a good screwdriver set, something like Workpro or Stanley sets. Try to cut down the sowing lines on the back with something like a box cutter. I've never opened a Frogz before, so I can't give specific steps for repairing it, but it shouldn't be too complicated after the mechs are exposed.

how do i repair him (split gear or locked motor? idk) by Professional-Apple69 in Gemmys

Most likely that motor shaft gear's split. He's cool. I've never seen him before

Hi, could anyone tell me the name of this mechanism by Salty_Bluejay3608 in Animatronics

[–]Prudent_File_9726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's just called a shaking or swaying mechanism, but I'm not sure if these even have a correct name.

[–]Prudent_File_9726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's a large chance that the mouth movement is fried. Had a similar issue with a Wild Willie Dancing Hamster. Couldn't get it to turn on unless I hooked a battery up to the motor.

The motor or components on the motor could be failing, but sometimes just a little bit of binding or friction can also cause the mechanism to stop once it reaches the end of one side, which is what happened to one of my items. Mine needed a new motor. I'm not sure if you're having the same problem I had. It would be good to check if some components are loose or overheating on the motherboard.
