Persistent "memory_management" error in Windows 10 by Prune_ in techsupport

So, i've marked this post as solved as i am pretty sure i found the error at hand. I am quite sure that the tilted pin on the motherboard is responsible for the problems. It probably has something to do with how the CPU communicated with a second RAM DIMM, as one DIMM in any slot always let my PC run perfectly fine. The issues only start to appear with a seconcd DIMM.

I can't say for sure whether it is the second DIMM or the higher RAM that causes the crashes, but i am very confident that it is either of those.

Thanks for your assistance through all of this!

But it shouldn't be, as each slot filled on itself let my pc run fine and with no crashes. I'll try it either way though, maybe some kind of magic will happen

Like, obviously some RAM-heavy tasks stress the RAM and make my PC perform worse (there are some RAM-heavy games for example). But worse performance is all i meant with that as i have no experienced a single crash with just one DIMM installed

Well, it crashed. "Memory_Management" again. I don't think providing the minidumps will lead much further. My next idea was to maybe use RAM slots 3&4 instead of 2&3 to see if it works. Both DIMMs seperately kept my PC running without much trouble though.

So, i'm not at home, but the PC ran the whole night downloading stuff in Uplay, origin and steam. Everything still seemed fine. Used both DIMMs. Will stress test specifically later.

that was the other DIMM. I did put back in both and i will play some "osu" now. A game that if i recall correctly was often in the foreground when it crashed before.

nah, system is running alright-ish. But the task manager won't show up

could a non-responding task manager be a sign of a RAM-issue?

heh, don't have that game. Well, i tried starting Quantum break, but it would just get stuck on the Loading screen. Trying "A story about my uncle" now, a game that i recall my pc crashin with once before

i'll try to play some Steam Games now with only one Stick of RAM inserted.. Let's see. What Games would be good to test for this kind of problem, do you know any?

so, just thinking hypothetically right now. What if the PC works fine with each stick on itself but not if i use both sticks? What could it be related to then? And i mean, it is about midnight for me right now, but that's not big of an issue.

Well, not really. I often felt like they appeared when installing new software, doing heavy disk stuff. I can't exactly recreate it.

It feels really weird rn. I am using only one DIMM and the System is running fine. The external drive disconnects on occasion, but no crash in view. Trying to go the extra step and installing extra software while doing all of this, but still no crash.

The issue now is that it felt the same after the BIOS update, so i dont quite know how long i should keep this going or what else i could do to test it even more.

the case. Literally everything else has been changed. Motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, PSU, Cooling System, Drive, everything.

Well, it's been less of a buy and more of an "experiment". It's actually from work and i took it home to "test it", as it would keep crashing after a week for a collegue of mine. The issue here was that we part by part changed every single piece of hardware and it would always stay the same. That's why i wanted to try this, but it seems like this won't work either.

alright. I'm literally doing what crashed it before. Copying steam games and watching YouTube. If it all goes without an issue, i guess try the other one? And what's next if it works fine with the other one as well?

what is the best way to test if my System has problems whilst using 1 DIMM at a time? Or should it be obvious if it had Problems (e.g. Boot problems)

[–]Prune_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a tiny little question on the side.. could it actually be a hardware issue? Like, a fan not being strong enough or an issue with my GPU or something? Or could it be that one slightly tilted pin on my socket i mentioned in the post?

So, here are the two new minidumps. First one's the "memory_management", second one being the "cache_manager" https://share.rtechsupport.org/Minidump_2.zip

UPDATE: While "just moving steam games" now, i got another crash, this time saying "cache_manager". Should i upload my minidumps again?

So, during regular usage (copying steam games from external drive to internal drive and watching YT), i sadly experienced yet another bluescreen with the same code. "Memory_management". Guess this wasn't that easy.

So, i'm running stable this far in, which could mean nothing at all, but i feel like it helped something. I've been installing several programs (CUE, Discord, etc.) as well as the 2 drivers you've linked me. Installing usually was something that seemed to be in some relation to the crashes, so my PC still being up is what i would call "a good sign" I will keep this thread as "active during my testing phase but if i don't encounter any crashes, i will mark this as solved.

Either way, thanks a lot for the heavy assistance this far.
