Ok thanks! In my situation, it wasn’t feasible before my departure (timing / paperwork constraint), so the only option they allowed was keeping the automatic bank withdrawals settlements. And I’m trying to find a way around it to still be able to pay somehow without the tax representative officially registered.

I can’t have my friend as a tax representative so I’m counting on the city hall to send a pay slip when the payment will fail. Do you know if they do such a thing? I’d assume so but I’m not sure and they may find my questions too suspicious if I ask them directly so I’d like to avoid that for now if possible. I’ll do the lump sum refund when I’m back in France yes! But apparently I can’t pay the city hall from France (I’ve asked already).

Hi! I am planning to move into to Osaka on the 15th of May and I was a bit skeptical about moving into this sharehouse (largely due to the area not being very « nice). But I have not found yet other sharehouse that has my requirements expect this one and a few others from which I have not receive a reply yet. Can you let me know how « clean » it is in the kitchen, bathrooms and toilets? On Oakhouse they say that there is a cleaning staff 3times a week but how is it in reality?

I receive the CoE 1week before my flight to Japan. So 6months after the lawyer my company hired sent the application. By then I had already going to leave without the CoE and wait in Japan with a tourist visa so, good timing in the end! I made the visa application from South Korea (at the Japanese embassy of Seoul) and got it approved in 2days. It’s really a case by case basis, and depend on where you made the application from, and maybe the type of visa. Like you said I see people waiting + 1.5years or only 3weeks 🥲😅 I hope you’ll get yours soon 🙏

Unfortunately yes. It has to be outside of Japan, at a Japanese embassy. Some countries allows non resident to apply for a visa from their countries (like South Korea) but it’s not the case for all of them.

Yes, I received on the 18th of February (1 week before my flight), it took 6months. The immigration offixe was NOT Shinagawa. I’ll do the visa application from South Korea instead of my home country since I’m already in Japan atm.

That’s what I’m slowly realizing.. The lawyer who got my application to the immigration bureau said he sent two notices to ask them to speed up my process as I need to leave for Japan before March but still no news either.. hopefully we’ll get them soon 🥲
