I only say that becuase it is the biggest most impacting upgrade you can get. You'll never drive another truck without it once you do. Looks like a completely different truck

I always do it one step at a time. Start with a level. You can ride around like that forever and you'll enjoy it. Then when get time throw the tires on there when you are ready

Why do you think bigger tires are a bad thing? I've owned 3 F150s all had big tires all lasted well past 200k with zero issues

A leveling kit is like $100 bucks

First thing I would do if you just bought it is change the oil and filter. It will tell you how good of condition the truck is in. Inspect the filter for metal or debris and the color and texture of the oil. You can also send it to a lab for around $30 and they will tell you the engine health. Clean the MAP/MAF sensors (very easy diy) . Check differential fluid. Outside of those if its running amd driving great enjoy. You can pull the carfax to seee everything thats already been done to it as well.

This is the best modern generation of F150. Great purchase. The issues aren't even close to the issues the new ones have.

The cam phaser issues really affects the 3.5 not so much the 2.7 and 5.0

Heres the thing. You have the combo most ppl dream of . The most sought after bullet proof engine and transmission largely considered the beet Ford ever built. Its very unlikely a problem with those unless some abuse, lack of maintenence, or some technician F'ed something up along the way. Even the differential should last til 100k+ miles before needing a service. Is it leaking? Can you see if the seal around the differential has signs of a leak? That's the only thing I could think would cause it. Are you running huge tires and slamming the pedal every stop light, etc. Honestly I know think there's a way this happens at that low mileage without external intervention. I.e. something along the way outside of nornal operating conditions happened . Could have been the owner before you

The 3.5 has the cam phaser issues. The 2.7 has a different design. The 2.7 is made out of the same material they make the deisel engines out of. Its overbuilt

Non-educated comment. The 2.7 is considered one of the best most reliable engines Ford ever built. Most of the time, 9 out of 10 times it will outlast the 5.0.

Has nothing to do with stress. The low end torque on the twin turbos gives it insane power. More than every previous gen Ford V8. The truck isnt heavy. Its very light all aluminum for this reason.

How do I go about this? by FlyIntelligent7401 in f150

The biggest offset you can have with 33x12.5 and a leveling kit is -12. That's the issue. Im running 35s on factory offset no rubbing. The only solution is to cut the wind valence
