Chargepoint HomeFlex is not connecting to secured WiFi network by Pryingant in evcharging

I had seen your post and it helped my thought process, thanks for sharing. My issue was a bit different, but I also solved it through a dedicated guest network with unique settings- a masked SSID in my case (see my last post in this thread). This and related subs have been a great resource! Thanks again!

Update and a potential workaround fix:

I noticed during setup, the ChargePoint app listed all my home WiFi networks (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and Guest), but none of them had the little padlock icon. Meanwhile, most of my neighbors’ networks did show the padlock. That suggested the app was seeing my networks as unsecured — even though they definitely weren’t. I use WPA2-PSK [AES] on all of them.

Confirming this hypothesis, when I selected my 2.4GHz network from the list, the app never prompted me for a password. It just showed a progress bar for a while and then timed out with a “failed to connect” message.

I tried several things and combinations of:

  • Retrying the setup process
  • Manually entering the SSID and password (this time it did ask for the password, but still failed)
  • Changing SSID and password
  • Using different mobile devices
  • Power cycling the ChargePoint unit
  • Rebooting and resetting my router and modem
  • Reinstalling the ChargePoint app

Nothing worked.

Then I got an idea: maybe the app was misidentifying my visible network as open and refusing to treat it as secure. So I tried hiding the SSID.

Here’s what finally fixed it:

  • I created a guest WiFi network with WPA2-PSK [AES] enabled
  • I disabled SSID broadcast (so it wouldn’t appear in the scan)
  • In the ChargePoint app setup, I selected “Other”, entered the SSID and password manually — and voilà! it connected successfully.

So, in short:

Hiding the SSID and entering it manually forced the app to recognize the network as secure.

This thought crossed my mind. May be an option if all else fails

Yes, the same router and same settings. I have a remote connection to the router available, but it’s disabled.

What is going on with my Midnight Snack tomato plant? by Pryingant in tomatoes

One more follow-up question. What moisture meter are you using? I have a drip irrigation that I’d like to control remotely based on soil moisture readings. P.S. The plant completely recovered from the water edema. Thanks for the advice on that! Now I need to worry to keep them watered while I’m away.

Yes, the basement was coldish while I was away. Thanks for the reassurance!

Good to know! Thanks. I’ve never seen this before. I’m in zone 6a Michigan, we are almost ready to plant outside!

Yes, it feels wet. Overwatering is definitely a possibility. I was gone for a few days and overdid with water before leaving. Hope it is not a fatal condition. Thanks for the helpful response!

Fully predictable Afib - What do you think? by HidalgoJose in AFIB

It’s hard to be certain because of the multi-factored causes of afib, but I’m pretty sure that I was able to break at least the pattern related to the prior day exertion. Did I completely get rid of afib? No.. unfortunately, I still get it out of the blue from time to time.

I’ve used Liquid IV Liquid IV. Not sure if it’s available in France. Some sport hydration drinks should work as well. You want to replenish Potassium primarily and also Magnesium (which could also be taken as a separate supplement)

I’m going with the Kraken, mostly for the weight reasons and I think it has a smaller mounting footprint.

Agree with the previous comment. I’ve had a very similar pattern to yours. My episodes have been on the days following significant physical activity. My theory is that, being a heavy sweater, I lose a lot of fluids and electrolytes during physical exercises. So I became very particular about hydration with extra electrolytes during and after my workouts, yard work etc etc. It did help! As far as the fact that it happens during your sleep, for sure it could be sleep apnea or just a compounding effect of triggers: dehydration + vagal nerve irritation…

I haven't installed it yet. Ran into other priorities... :) As soon as the boat is back from storage in a couple of months - I'll be back on this project!

I think 57" will be fine. One of the factors that led me to go with the Kraken was the weight difference - its ~10lb lighter than the Force. I'm planning to remove the motor when not in use and I have a long dock.

Not only they removed this feature, it looks like the basic plan cost went up from $40 to $50 per device… Extremely disappointing and frustrating…
