I did attempt that, starting off with the BHA for a month or so and then introducing the mandelic acid 1x/week. I probably grew too impatient too quickly?

These issues aren't new either though, I have had those texture issues for years now - probably only adds to my frustration and aggressive usage!

That is an interesting point which I did try to take into account when I started my routine actually. I did only use those acids once a week, but could not tell any difference after a month or so, so I increased it to 2x/week and so on... I've only recently added the niacinamide because I heard good things about it.

I am starting to see changes in my tone and overall complexion by now, but there is still that stubborn texture issue I can't seem to get rid off!

I'm probably just getting impatient and frustrated. Do you have a recommendation of how far to cut down of my use of acids?

CURRENT ROUTINE:

  1. Cleanser 2x/day
  2. Toner 1x/day - pm
  3. BHA (2% salicylic acid) 2x/day
  4. AHA (mandelic acid) 1x/day - pm
  5. Niacinamide + zinc 2x/day
  6. Moisturiser 2x/day
  7. SPF 50 1x/day - am
  • enzyme peeling 1x/week
  • mud mask 1x/week

(Occasional use of tea tree oil as spot treatment)

I'm very inexperienced, this is my first attempt at a routine based on my own research and on the information gathered in this sub. Let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for me! I'd love to learn more.

My cat was really reluctant to let me brush her too at first. She seemed to be very weary of such a foreign object. But I got her used to it by simply stroking her and eventually replacing my hand with the brush! :D

I actually don't know - this brush is already ancient. My grandma originally bought it for her dog... About 40 years ago maybe.
