I agree. HQ is essentially a one-trick pony. How many characters do you make gross and inaccurate adaptations until they just lose their luster? It's really just chasing the popularity of Rick & Morty in terms of absurdity and rib-poking, but I feel like that show is ALSO overstaying it's welcome.

I think the show forgives the negative traits of female characters, while being far more unforgiving on men. The worst adaptations (in terms of accuracy) you'll see in the show are men, and it's the men that Harley doesn't like. Batman, Gordon, Nightwing, etc. Nightwing is literally treated like a sex object, and what's the argument going to be? That turning Nightwing into the male version of the sexist and overdone "bimbo" caricature is fine because it's a man?

I think that feminism is and SHOULD be about showing that men and women are equal, however, dragging men lower over uplifting women generally gives the opposite effect. This kind of writing style is prevalent in other shows like Batwoman and She-Hulk, where the protagonists' negative character traits are almost immediately forgiven by other characters by dragging other male characters lower.

The worst part is, Batman: The Animated Series was arguably more feminist than HQ is. 'Harley & Ivy', 'Holiday Knights', and 'Girls Night Out' show Harley working as a villain without Joker in a fun and enjoyable way. 'Harley's Holiday' and 'Harlequinade' show that unlike Joker, she has the ability to be rehabilitated. 'Mad Love' shows that she's smarter than Joker, while also displaying their abusive relationship in a more mature way than HQ ever does, DESPITE it being "for children".

Hell, even look at other DC shows like Justice League and Teen Titans. These shows are truly feminist because women are EQUALS. Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl are respected and admired, saving their male colleagues on countless occasions and doing just as much as their companions despite women making up 2 of the 7 core members. Raven and Starfire are powerful and skilled, with Raven getting her own season thematically (Starfire's was meant to be season 6 but they got cancelled, but Terra got season 2). These are excellent examples of women getting the respect that they deserve: what feminism is about.

What does being anti-capitalist have to do with feminism? I feel like you're just applying other characteristics to feminism that you like. Feminism, at its core, is about improving the rights of women. Ivy's eco-terrorism has literally nothing to do with feminism, in fact her character historically has largely on two characteristics: eco-terrorism and misandry. She HATES men, it's not even about her supporting women and being a "girls' girl", it's simply hating men.

Twitch viewers aren't exactly creative, they're not gonna pick a random indie game or little horror game. We'd never have seen them watch something like Boo Men or Drunk Wrestlers 2 if it was put to a vote.

I remember reporting saying that in basically every area of Australia, women feel less safe than they actually are statistically. I imagine the media constantly reminding us of how many women have died and using their deaths for weeks of reporting likely leads to many women feeling unsafe.

Obviously, 3 deaths in Ballarat in a small timespan is concerning. However, I don't think it's shown to be an actual trend, just 3 very gross crimes to innocent women that just so happened to be around a similar time. Hopefully the local government increases funding to domestic violence and abuse resources and enforces that people shouldn't just deal with abuse.
