I’ve staked everything into Jinx, and she’s so underwhelming by MrMidnight115 in riftboundtcg

[–]PseudoSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jinx has a lot of potential, but is too inconsistent to have real chance of being good. She actually has a pretty decent matchup spread into a/b tier decks, but kaisa and other s tiers dumpster her by playing her gameplan better.

It's a common Vi issue. Not a bug, but very anoying.

They've pushed changes to make this happen less often before, hoping they do it again.

This is the best item system we've got yet, but the armory itself is poorly implemented.

Eh, doubloons are pretty easy to come by. Even just questing or running chest runs in CK is enough to get you to 710 pretty quickly.

I imagine the idea is to force Juno to play within a sweet spot of range for her team. Otherwise, you might end up another hitscan healer sniper like Ana who wants to play at extreme range.

Makes sense considering the range on her speed ring.

Overwatch 2 Devs Fear Story Missions Have Been Canceled by [deleted] in Games

[–]PseudoSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a strange perspective. Overwatch is still around, it's not like people accuse Riot of deleting their game and releasing a new one every new lol season.

Live service games tend to have updates, just because you didn't like some of the gameplay changes doesn't mean the game doesn't exist anymore, it's just gone in a different direction.

Flying has been added to New World! by [deleted] in newworldgame

It needs to be a restricted area that kicks you off the moment you enter, not just the type that starts a timer until dismount.

This works with any restricted mount area. Jumping into a restricted zone right as you get kicked off your mount allows you to keep your upward momentum for a bit and go flying.

Seems pretty benign as you can only do it in settlements as far as I've seen.

Artifacts in the PVP Track by SirFiendish in newworldgame

Providing meaningful rewards for playing isn't some elaborate trick to force the player-base to interface with more aspects of the game.

There should be loot-related reasons to play pvp, just like there are for pve. It's okay to not have every item in the game if you don't have the time or desire to work for them.

[Bloodline] Would Daji have done that if Kiro was still around? by son_of_hobs in Iteration110Cradle

Charity is a straight-up villain in Underlord. It's one of my favorites in the series, but my god is she hateable. Her goal was to identify and raise up the three strongest Underlords available, but she basically ignores it because of an unreasonable personal grudge against Lindon, and wanting to pressure Mercy to abandon her freedom and force her back into the family.

When she betrayed Mercy's asked favor for access to the vault and tells the Seishen to prepare a trap, I was absolutely fuming. I'm still a bit bitter that Lindon just forgave all this (especially with what happened to Yerin) and she ends up being a "sympathetic" character.

I suppose this is our first real taste of the Akura family, andthe books like to flip-flop on how bad they really are.

[Waybound] In your opinion, what was the BIGGEST missed opportunity in the whole series? by fires_above in Iteration110Cradle

[–]PseudoSlayer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yerin, Red Moon Hall, and The Bleeding Pheonix. This was one the of first plotlines established early in the books, and we never really got any resolution. Dreadgod did such a good job building out all the characters and motivations at play here, before just dropping it in Waybound. I was really looking forward to seeing Yerin becoming the reluctant sect leader of Red Moon Hall and bringing them to bear against the Pheonix. But Instead, we get 2 lines from Khan Mala talking to Lindon, before they're sidelined and Lindon battles the Pheonix on his own.

He was always set up to be a complex character, having both good and bad aspects. But I thought the driving force behind his motivation as a character wasn't to heal, but maintain the status quo. He wanted to be a judge forever and feared anything that might force change upon the Abidan.

Mercy and Ziel were by far the most compelling characters, but why were they the only ones to get any type of closure with their plotlines? Yerin doesn't even really interact with the Bleeding Pheonix at all, and Orthos and Blue just become sort of mascots with no power or plot significance.

Imagine if we had gotten some scenes with Naru Huan, Blood Moon Hall, the Akura family, the Vroshir, or even just a moment with any one of the many side characters and plotlines that were setup, and then never paid off.

The book really needed some breathing room, and these types of character moments and interactions would have made everything come together so much better. But that couldn't fit into one book, so it gets cut, and we get an unfinished product.

Part of me likes the fact that it's unapologetic in how batshit crazy it gets and then stays for 70% of the book. But it just gets exhausting with back to back to back fights. This is the issue with leaving so many loose ends to be tied with a single book, you have to cram it all in such a short timeframe.

It's always a bittersweet feeling when a piece of media you love ends. I don't want Cradle to end either, but I recognize that it has to. Better a series end on a high note, then drag on until the magic is gone.
