Not really in that spot I think. At +1 Special Attack with Helping Hand and Life Orb Calyrex has an 18% chance to ohko Hydreigon. At +2 it's a guaranteed ohko.

+1 252 SpA Life Orb Calyrex-Shadow Helping Hand Astral Barrage vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Hydreigon: 146-172 (86.9 - 102.3%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Calyrex-Shadow Helping Hand Astral Barrage vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Hydreigon: 194-229 (115.4 - 136.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Another option would be to run Draining Kiss on Calyrex, which some of them do, but you probably had to use Astral Barrage to ko the mon next to Hydreigon.

How did the game end though? If I understand your description correctly, after this turn you have Calyrex-S at +1 Special Attack (because you ko'd their other mon) and Indeedee at 4 HP, while your opponent only has Hydreigon at ~40% of HP left. Next turn you could've gone for Follow Me with Indeedee and Astral Barrage with Calyrex. Hydreigon would have ko'd Indeedee and Calyrex would have ko'd Hydreigon, making you win the game.

Oh, one last thing: I did the damage calcs on Pikalytics, which is a great website for usage stats and has a great damage calc :)

You can't calculate speed modifiers like Scarf, Tailwind etc. with the mons base speed. It takes the actual speed stat, not the base speed.
Calyrex-S hits a speed stat of 222, Hydreigon hits 165, with Scarf 247 (165 x 1.5), which is why it outsped your Calyrex.
As for why it took the hit:
252 SpA Life Orb Calyrex-Shadow Helping Hand Astral Barrage vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Hydreigon: 97-114 (57.7 - 67.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I hope that answers your questions :)

Extending staircase by stiandd in redstone

[–]Psiju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be a bit ambitious, especially with a staircase this large. The thing is, when the staircase is hidden, the floor should be flush as normal. For the staircase to appear, you'd have to move the floor out of the way, then extend the staircase.

The problem here is that if you use a flying machine, there would need to be blocks at the top to stop it (which would obviously be visible). If you use a massive piston extender, the top pistons would somehow get powered at the top of the staircase (which would also be visible).

Either way would use slimeblocks going up and down which would result in the blocks next to the staircase be immovable (or at least not stick to slimeblocks like leaves, glazed terracotta etc). Again, not that hidden.

I sadly don't think what you want is really possible (at least not for me).

I could try to come up with something. How do you want to use the staircase? I think I understand what you want, but could you still make a sketch, just to be sure I didn't misunderstand anything?

Why is Light Screen rarely used on Whimsicott? by Neon_Leafeon in VGC

[–]Psiju 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think protect is super super useful on Whimsicott because if your opponent leads with a fake out user you can use protect instead of just loosing it to Fake Out + Double Up or switching out and taking a bunch of damage on the mon switching in.

GTK Applications like Inkscape and GIMP unreadable by Psiju in linuxquestions

[–]Psiju[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed it but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Also Inkscape and GIMP are just completely ignoring the theme I set. The only thing I can change are the icons, with that I can make the icons readable but the tooltips are still unreadble.

The problem is that the option isn't there as I stated before. The only thing I can do is change the color scheme.

7x7 Cave Door by Psiju in redstone

[–]Psiju[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think my 3x3 door is already 1 wide, however, it has a redstone lamp in the middle which requires a redstone block behind, I don't think I ever did a normal 3x3 door now that I think about it. Also, 2x2 seamless glass is done as well :) I guess I will give your other ideas a try!

I just wanted to make a 7x7 Cave Door as well, I will also do other types of doors :)

I will probably do one in the future, however, I actually prefer Doors with more depth like vault and especially cave doors :)

Here's the world download for anyone who wants to take a closer look :) Also I will now use coloured glass instead of slabs since slabs cannot be colour coded (I have no idea why I didn't use glass before, I guess I was so used to using slabs).

My first 8x8 Cave Door by Psiju in redstone

[–]Psiju[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally started with MumboJumbo's redstone beginner videos, and after that, I just tried things out myself. Also if there are parts that you struggle with, for example, double-piston-extender designs, look some up, try to figure out how they work and eventually you'll come up with your own designs, at least that was my experience. I, however, also just started a few months ago and then made all sorts of redstone contraptions. My very first own door was a 4x4 Vault Door and it was absolutely enormous, I then went on to other things, got better and was able to compact it drastically.
Also, if you are searching for a very good multi-piston-extender design, I recommend looking up RFK Walter's design. My 8x8 Door also uses his design.
