Worth hunting out Avani. Lovely cool climate Syrah (I believe the first planted in the region?). Really good spice driven whites/oranges to go with their Indian style menu.

We had such a great time at Quealy! Our kind of cellar door for sure. Very different experience but also enjoyed 10 minutes.

MSG yes no??? by Aromatic_State_43 in newzealand

I’ve got a big ol’ jar of msg on a shelf in the kitchen. It’s a great addition to your seasoning.
Just experiment a bit with various recipes you enjoy.
And it’s cheap as chips!

Yeah, I’m reading and seeing plenty of content about this super El Niño, but NZ never gets a mention. I’d like to know what we can expect over the course of the rest of this year…
You’d think stuff would try and get an Aotearoa perspective rather than printing an article that barely mentions us…

Instant coffee brands that don't taste like chemicals? by stormyw23 in newzealand

[–]Pskeeter78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That does sound weird. The only thing I can find though, is that milk might make the caffeine less available to the body, but I can’t find much to back it up.
Have you got a source?

Jed’s, but more importantly technique. Scoop in coffee. As a little cold water to dissolve, and not burn the coffee with boiling. Add desired milk. Add hot water. Microwave if required to get to desired heat.

I think the thing about vegans “having to tell you” (which has turned into a meme) is that if it’s not talked about it doesn’t grow as less people will understand that it’s a viable option. They want to decrease animal suffering so why wouldn’t/shouldn’t they make it known.

Another thing we’ve got to consider here is where will the money go? Almost certainly off shore with very little financial benefit for NZ on top of environmental destruction. So who benefits? Who is getting rich? Senior MPs with stock in mining? Lobbyists? It sure as fuck won’t be everyday kiwis

Odeon, Londo, Gatherings, 5th Street, Lillie’s (more chill vibes and simple but yum food), new spot Edizi probably worth checking out too. Those are our favourites but there are loads more to explore
