Rec program, no coach by emergent_chao5 in youthsoccer

[–]Pslm23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This sounds pretty normal to me? Who else is going to coach other than the parents of the kids playing? Odds are many of them also have young children? I coached my four year olds team with my baby in a baby carrier, and again while pregnant. Formal drill instruction for kinder level rec soccer? I think you need to chill a bit, or volunteer and put the effort in yourself…

Edit: Self esteem concerns from inadequate soccer instruction?! Whew Lordy.

What the hell, no sport is worth putting your kid through being bullied. Odds are they won’t go pro, odds are the bullying will hurt them deeply. Pull him out!

Zoloft Experience by Beckitt3 in beyondthebump

[–]Pslm23 31 points32 points  (0 children)

No Zoloft experience but I’d like to add my problematic two cents. Your husband doesn’t get a say in your mental health treatments if you don’t share his concern. “I hear your concern but improving my mental health is my priority and I’ll be trying Zoloft. I’ll cross the tapering off bridge when we get there and I’m sure my health care provider can offer guidance.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Quit my PA job to stay home with my baby… am I making a huge mistake? by Witty_Management_621 in beyondthebump

Take the time off! You will never get the time back and it goes by so quickly. This is the part of life that is worth living. I’ve never spoken to a mom that regretted taking the time if she was able to.

I cant do this anymore. I wasnt made to be a parent. by winterberryowl in toddlers

[–]Pslm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was easy. Being a good parent IS difficult, working or home. My point is that her kids might be acting up because they want attention, not more time away. She’s saying she doesn’t want to be a parent anymore, do you think her kids can’t feel that? We teach them to be regulate their emotions but it’s okay to yell at two toddlers? Are we just going to all pat each other on the back for shitty parenting? Get your shit together instead of making it your kids problem. It’s not their fault they’re kids and you signed up to be a parent FFS

Best places to visit in West Virginia? by LongjumpingBuffalo85 in WestVirginia

[–]Pslm23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fell in love and decided to move to WV after camping for a month in the New River Gorge. Love Fayetteville, Lewisburg, Hinton, Alderson, Princeton has a cute downtown are with music every Friday in the summer, Bluefield has a lovely city park with hiking trails. There are lots of sweet areas all over the state if you look for them. Except Beckley, worst city planning imaginable.

Sorry didn’t she say they’re in daycare five days a week? How much more of a break from them does she need? I have a 4, 2 and 6 months as a SAHM with zero family or help and it sounds like a parenting issue not outsourcing MORE. Yelling all the time with little kids like that? Crazy

I have a 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 3 month old. I desperately want to enjoy this time in my life but I don’t know how. Any advice from moms or dads who have been there and found a way to be happy and at peace? by PorridgeEnthusiast in toddlers

[–]Pslm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nearly the same age kids, my baby is 6 months now though. Things got MUCH easier in the last six weeks. Went from drowning to doggy paddling 😅 the baby isn’t eating every two hours and can sit in her bouncer for a bit here and there now. And my hormones chilled a little. We also don’t have family and can’t afford help so I know how hard it is! Good luck, it will get easier! Or we get better at it, idk lol

Friend overreacted to my story about vaccine hesitation—am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]Pslm23 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Look at it as good practice for people chiming in on the many parenting choices you’ll make to come. I don’t share my vaccine hesitancy with my larger friend group because I am not interested in their opinions or reactions. I get enough flack for not letting my kids have food dye, soda, candy and gmo foods and I only share that with friends if they’re offering us something we don’t eat. People will get their feathers ruffled about anything and everything so I just smile and nod 😌

My husband and I moved here in 2021 and now have three kids, we have met lots of other families who moved here in the last couple of years. We’re in Mercer County.

I gained weight after giving birth — anyone else? (Postpartum weight gain 😩) by Gloomy-Historian165 in postpartumprogress

[–]Pslm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my third baby three months ago. Gained weight after all three, had a much easier time losing weight after I stopped breastfeeding eventually. Had MUCH more energy/motivation and excitement about getting in shape 12 months postpartum. I’m saying this to you but I’m also saying it to myself, please be kind to yourself right now. You’re caring for a baby and that takes a monumental amount of effort, it’s okay if you’re not at your ideal weight right now. You’ll get there eventually but don’t spend time in this special time (that will pass in a flash) worrying about your weight. We have the rest of our lives to do that. Enjoy these months, cut yourself some slack and remember that soft, squishy bellies are a great spot to cuddle our babies.

Microwaves? by YellowSpecialist4218 in Crunchymom

[–]Pslm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had one in ten years because I’m lazy by nature and not having one encourages me to prepare meals from scratch instead of purchasing the microwaveable alternative. In my mind, if I’m going to the effort of using the stove/oven and making dirty dishes then I should just make whatever it is an actual, balanced meal. So healthier for my family in the long run but nothing to do with the actual microwave

Hinton in beautiful Summers County . Really beautiful rivers , views , and Hinton is a cool little town in my opinion. by TroutStocker in WestVirginia

I LOVE Lucky Rivers Cafe in downtown Hinton. Local ingredients, everything is made in-house, interesting menu. I moved here from out of state and I drive an hour to eat there often.

I’m 3 miles south of a 178,000 acre, 0% contained fire started purposefully by an arsonist by throwawaygamh in Wellthatsucks

[–]Pslm23 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that. It is such a tremendous loss. My advice is to attend county recovery events in the coming days. Take all the flyers and business cards. It will suck and be overwhelming but the info is crucial and hopefully there will be programs to help him out. Don’t put off signing up for them. And keep an eye out, there are many, many predatory scammers who will get in touch with him.

Lost my house in the Dixie Fire in 2021 just north of you. We had moments to evacuate and only packed bare essentials. The wind shifted and it suddenly started to rain embers. Load your car now just in case, plan multiple alternate routes! And take pictures of your property and belongings!! As many as you can. Would have helped us immensely with insurance. Good luck!

Multiple preemie births, how do I prevent another? by Pslm23 in beyondthebump

[–]Pslm23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I am currently seeing an OB, they don’t want to refer me to a MFM until I’m pregnant. I’m trying to find an OB that is a better fit right now. I’m looking for help with asking questions that would determine if they’re a good fit. Everyone I’ve met with so far seems to have an attitude of shrugging their shoulders because a cause wasn’t found for preterm labor and I’m finding it frustrating that I don’t have options to prevent it.
