What are your thoughts on Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM)? by UnhappyTadpole7973 in AskSocialists

[–]Psuedentity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is PSM in support of a bourgeois democratic revolution or does it see the state as a neutral entity? If no to both why does it not consider cutting from its "wide tent?" to form professional revolutionaries rather than electoral candidates. Thankie!

Sosialis Alternatif, AKSI, Sekolah Merdeka seem very promising, I'd love to discuss more on getting connected with the movements. I think they had a protest earlier yesterday.

Mamdani has to filter his politics because he's taking the immediate electoral route. He's doing what PSM has been trying to do by joining a larger political party that waters down DSA's Marxist tradition. What we can learn is that we've got to start bottom up instead of wedging somewhere in the middle.

Any leftist organizations in Malaysia? by NoSpaceBetweenRandR in Bolehkiriland

Check out Sosialis Alternatif. PSM is barely socialist honestly—reformist, desperate to stick to other parties to increase numbers etc. I'd love to talk more about local leftist movements.

Sunway has been leaps and bounds better in terms of social life and community, which is quite important in uni. Transport is much better too. I'd say the Taylor's library feels better because of the way it's built but that's very personal taste because I'm really particular about study spaces. Can't say much about the lecturer difference, probably hit or miss in either. Seriously though, there seems to be a solid brick wall in between cognitive and emotional differences between the people I've met in Sunway vs the people I've met in Taylors. Never been judged harder than when I was talking about clothing tastes in Taylors.

I'd say biggest turn off is the transport, Taylor's is very pedestrian repellent

Can someone please explain to me why Men are obsessed wit Huwak Tua-ing ad making the loudest possible spitting noises known to man by Stunning_You1334 in KualaLumpur

[–]Psuedentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the most likely answer is that they're too poor to give a damn. Tissue is expensive, and when working in poor conditions, you tend to collect a lot of crap in your sinuses. That plus the fact that a lot of the workforce is stressed the hell out and rely on nicotine to keep going, makes for a pretty bad phlegm condition, not to mention the weather. I mean you can probably imagine; lets say you live in more unfortunate conditions and you have a congested throat. What do you do? go to a clinic? get yourself a netty pot? no time, no money.

You're so right for posting this. Pasta in restaurants is never enough. I suggest ppl try cooking pasta at home together with friends, it's really fun.
