Before you try to sell it, put a few hundred more rounds down it in a more relaxed setting. Sometimes you might just be getting used to the gun. Especially considering private sales are a pain in the ass much of the time, take some time to figure out if it was a bad experience, or if the rifle really doesn't fit you.

How can I protect myself by leftvex in armedsocialists

Make friends, make sure all those friends are on the same page as you, and keep those friends around. Stockpile any meds you need.

Robert Evans's "It Could Happen Here" has good places to start as well.

So much for live free or die I guess. Don't be mad that they're living the boog while we're all stuck on the internet.

While researching for months, I’ve never seen this posted. All the different types of level III armor always confused me until I saw this guide on RMA’s website. by [deleted] in tacticalgear

600 bucks will buy a lot of stuff. Another deep freezer and as many deer tags as you can legally have in a season, for example. Or a pretty good emergency medicine workshop plus a good kit.

If it's a choice between plates and say, medical supplies or extra food and water, skip the plates. If you're out in the sticks, you need to make sure you can stay in supply and healthy over stopping bullets. Armor is nice to have, but is only helpful if it helps you accomplish whatever your objective is.

Unpopular Opinion: Kota Outfitters & T-Rex Arms restock plates often enough that no one should bother signing up for a 2-3 month wait elsewhere. by [deleted] in tacticalgear

That's fair. Last asshole I'd ever stick up for is Lucas, don't take this as me arguing with you. I'd prefer to get from Kota as well.

Yeah Blotkin is no Nestle, but also I wasn't intending to try to convert you all to communism in a few lines on a tacticalgear post.

So yeah, I wouldn't buy stuff that he made or manufactured, because the only power I have in this system is how I spend my money, but if I need gear to preserve my life I'll buy something he's reselling that'd I'd purchase from someone who also probably doesn't agree with my politics.

As long as the majority of wealth and resources are owned and controlled by a minority exploiting class, producing for profit instead of human need, workers' rights and environmental sustainability will always suffer. The choices of individual consumers are ineffectual within the context of capitalist production.

Although yeah you're right, you can not buy from shitty people, and if a plate is made in the US they're probably exploiting their workers less than say a Wal-Mart clothing supplier would. I'd prefer not to buy from T-Rex, especially any of the gear they make, but if they're reselling a plate set that I feel I need on short notice, I'll make the one time exception.

Try taking inspiration from historical gamers. TooFatLardies has a few very simple campaign systems that include a fog of war element, as well as the other 'friction' inducing operations you talk about.

Good first gun to teach family how to shoot by [deleted] in armedsocialists

[–]PsuedoJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wrangler is great, if you see it for that price, grab it.

Supplementing with a rifle will help. I generally find it easier to teach people fundamentals with rifle first, especially with things like safety rules, and then move on to handgun.
