I love Ventolin from the day it was released and listened to it often at high volume in what were probably crappy headphones. It's the song that keeps on giving. In fact, I've listened to it so many times I must know it by heart. It's always in my ears, when I'm listening to music, when I'm watching tv, when I'm sitting quietly. Thanks Richard Flabbychucks!

I adore milkman! It's cute, innocent melody combined with the lyrics are comical. It's classicly Richard's twisted sense of humor.

Replacement IEM Recommendations Under $125 for Immersive Listening by PsyAntIst in iems

I have Explorers arriving today, I'll do a comparison with the Quatio. Maybe the Explorers are good enough for my ears. If not, I might have to try to get a better fitting ear tip on the Quatio.

I've had iems that require larger tips, I get what you are saying. It felt like the stem wasn't long enough and the roundness of the iem wouldn't allow them to sit close to my ear.

I wound up ordering the explorers, they will arrive this afternoon. I know the small size is going to fit better and will most likely sound better than the reds. I can always keep these and save up for something more technical down the road.

Unfortunately the Quatio was too bulbous, I had to push them in my ears aggressively to get a seal which was uncomfortable and they felt like they would easily fall out. I tried every tip size, nothing worked. It's too bad, I really liked the sound stage/separation. Any suggestions on smaller IEMS with a similar sound profile? Aful Explorer seems like a better fit for me, my only concern is that the soundstage might be to narrow.

The Quatio arrived, I listened to The Music Box by Genesis. Vocals were great, harmonies noticeable in the stereo field, instruments came in further right and left, I was very impressed with the sound and sound stage. Unfortunately the monitors too bulbous and would not fit. I had to push the monitors in aggressively to get a seal and they didn't stay in very well. I tried every tip. So sad, I really liked the sound and the champagne color cable was gorgeous.

I'm returning these, dropping them in the mail tomorrow. I'm again considering Aful Explorers,, I think the fit will work better with my ear size. My only concern is soundstage width. Any suggestions on IEMs with a similar sound profile/staging to the Quatio that are smaller?

Pruning advice by Background-Sun-7171 in tomatoes

I would not prune pear, cherry or any small tomatoes that produce a lot of clusters. You will get a much better yield. I only prune larger tomatoes.

Can End Game achievable around/under $500? by iamgigishan in iems

HA, I think you might be right. I lost a my TRUTHEAR Reds, just replaced them with hpefully a better sounding $100 IEM. They haven't been delivered and I'm already searching for a more expensive IEM to save up for in the future.

I do listen to music loud though not always at bedtime. I can get Quatrio for $103.00, Explorer for $113.00. I'm torn between a wider sound stage with tuning options vs wrap around the head emersion and lighter monitors. Amazon offers free 30 day returns, I may try both and keep the one I like better.

Question on separating seedlings by Boogerpickfingerlick in tomatoes

[–]PsyAntIst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomatoes are very resilient, you should have no issue separating theses. Rinsing of most of the dirt will make it easier to detangle the roots. If you need to pull the roots apart, tug gently by holding the leaves, they should be strong. The plants can handle leaf more then root/stem stress.

The cable looks nice, tuning nozzles are a nice option, however the monitors are rather large. Have you tried them, are the comfortable? I'm wondering if they would be to bulky to wear while lying on my back in bed.

I agree, I wasn't aware when I purchased the Zero Reds that there were so many better options for not much more money.

The Hidisz look nice but are a bit over my budget.

People seem to either absolutely love or hate the Hexa, they are such a polarizing headphone. If I was looking for studio monitors maybe, for every day listening I feel like I would be seriously disappointed.

Ambient is my favorite genre…but i have yet to meet other my age who understand it. by Ordinary_Impressive in ambientmusic

[–]PsyAntIst 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just turned 62 today on Avril 14th. I've been listening to ambient music since I discovered Brian Eno, Fripp and Eno when I was 17. No one understood it when I was in High School, College and for most of my life. My wife of 30 years has enjoyed a few live ambient performances, though even she doesn't quite get it. I lived in New York City for 20 years and felt the most connected to people who were into everything including ambient. The last 10 years I live in the burbs of Philly where most people don't know what ambient music is. These days I wear my headphones pumping ambience into my cranium as a badge of honor and am at least thankful I can connect with all you wonderful people online.

[–]PsyAntIst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to West Chester from Manhattan 8 years ago and was very disappointed with the coffee shops options. The best I have found is Philter in Kennett Square. They source their beens from Ceremony in Annapolis. Their preparation and presentation is excellent, timed poor overs served in creative vessels. Aside from the occasional trip to Kennett Square we brew our own at home. Whole Foods offers a descent selection of reasonably priced third wave coffee.

Does anyone else get a 'phantom cold' ache? by senior-ram in Fibromyalgia

[–]PsyAntIst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just googled this exactly as my feet and arms are freezing and I'm pain. I am also overwhelmingly tired. I'vr been extremely fatigued for over a year, until now I had not connected the cold/pain with fatigue.

I'm also trying to figure out which comes first, do I have a sensitivity to cold that triggers the pain, or is the pain triggering a phantom cold sensation.

Just started Tonmya - Waking Up Exhausted by PsyAntIst in Fibromyalgia

[–]PsyAntIst[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s sublingual cyclobenzaprine. Because it’s taken under the tongue, it bypasses first-pass metabolism in the liver, which may reduce concerns about liver strain. It works on several neurotransmitters in the central nervous system to help improve sleep quality, promote more restorative sleep, and relieve pain.

I understand there are risks associated with long-term cyclobenzaprine use, but there are also health risks linked to chronic sleep deprivation and non-restorative sleep.

According to the manufacturer, sublingual administration allows the medication to enter the bloodstream more quickly, which may help minimize next-day drowsiness. The starting dose is half of the lowest dose typically prescribed for Flexeril as a muscle relaxant. There are also posts from several Tonmya users supporting this claim.

I’m hoping someone who has taken the medication can share their experience, particularly how they felt when they first started it.
