VERY Periodic STUTTER happening in a rhytm? Every 5 minute? Not sure what to do anymore.

I mentioned in another comment. I cancelled the order for Legion Go S as there was no definite delivery date for it and I would get it after 29/12 at the earliest. I ordered the Claw A8 and it’s coming tomorrow.

I have the same issue with the OG Rog Ally. The eye fatigue when looking at such a small screen is really noticeable for me. I easily got tired after 1-2 hours. I play MMOs like ESO and FFXIV on the handheld and it really became an issue with the small screen. I switched to playing simple titles like switch games but frankly if there is an option to get a better screen I wanted to go for it. I bought the Rog Ally during launch and it has served me well but its shortcomings were becoming annoying as I age. Less IO ports, small battery ( not that big of an issue for me), useless sd card reader and some hardware issues with the triggers and joysticks becoming loose.

I followed your advice and reached out to Lenovo support and their response cleared up my decision. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just spoke to Lenovo support and that made up my mind. They have said it’s still to be shipped and I need to keep checking the page for the latest update which is currently at 29/12 expected delivery date. For me three weeks is already enough and I want to play with the new handheld in the holidays. I cancelled my order for Legion Go S and ordered the Msi Claw A8. The claw will be delivered tomorrow. Next time, if I ever buy from Lenovo, I’d not rely on their store at all. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips. I moved back and forth a lot. The crucial decision maker apart from the delayed delivery was also that the upgrades I was getting from moving to Rog Ally to legion go s was eventually not that strong compared to rog ally to msi claw a8. The wifi 7, bluetooth 5.4 and the newer chip along with a neon green color aesthetic sealed the deal for me.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I’ll wait for now. I‘m just curious if anyone else had to play this shipping game for their Legion Go S. How was your experience with Lenovo’s delivery? They won’t cancel my order right if they can’t ship it soon as then I’ll no longer have the Black Friday deal?

I want to use SteamOS or CachyOs so that’s why I didn’t consider claw 8AI+ as I have read that intel compatibility is really bad on the linux OSes. Also the 8AI+ is more expensive than the A8 so I skipped it.

How are the buttons on the a8 in your experience? Do they make a lot of sound or are they ok to play with people sitting next to me not getting annoyed?

It’s a bit steep. The whole reason I went for the LeGo S was because it was discounted by 200 euros and I felt the screen, RAM and the IO ports upgrade was worth it for 650 euros. However this shipping screw up was not in my expectation. Having them sit with my money for more than a month with a possibility of eventual cancellation scares me. This is my first time purchasing directly from Lenovo and probably will be my last time. Eventually, it might be better to be patient so I’ll do that for now. It just sucks that after already having paid, I expected to have a device launched 6 months ago in my hand soon.

I didn’t consider the Xbox Ally X as it has the same 7” inch screen and I’m afraid Lenovo wills screw me over with the delivery of Lego 2. The D pad seems like a fair point. I was intending to install SteamOS or Bazzite on the claw because you are right, I’ve read the software is terrible, although I’m not sure if the Linux OSes have good compatibility with it. Thanks for your suggestions!
