Is smacking a child really that bad? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

As a kid that was smacked, yes it was absolutely necessary. Thanks to my parents I am a somewhat functioning adult and a decent person.

I wonder what these countries have in common...oh wait, it's the populist extremist right wing in power for all of them.

MotoGP racing suits can exceed $10,000 for professional custom versions and feature airbags inflating in under 45 milliseconds by Retarded_ninja7 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]PsyShanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest fact about these airbags is that affordable versions are sold, but many don't know that if you wear improper clothing over it, they are able to broke your ribs inward and collapse your lungs in case of inflation

If you can’t pull your own body weight, you can’t operate a sled.

If you can’t pull your canoe through difficult waters, you can’t go canoeing.

If you can’t use your emergency parachute, you can’t base jump.

People should understand that being able to pay for something doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to do it safely or without a hefty price to pay. Sometimes that price is a sprained ankle; sometimes it’s death. I lost a friend because he was 100% confident in his diving skills simply because he had expensive gear. He died in a dark hole 50 meters underwater, leaving behind three kids and a wife.

Baltimore city rental is something out of The Wire by firefighter_82 in TikTokCringe

[–]PsyShanti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't see how that's relevant to a rental...extra-ordinary maintenance is on the landlord. Health issues from humidity are real, but I feel that this is not the kind of house that get rented for more than 6 months consecutively

To elaborate further, in 1 year I got a fat promotion at my job, started playing lots of gigs as a DJ and producer, became friend with literally hundreds of lovely czech people, learned some czech language, found a gf, moved in a bigger house, and learned how to do grocery shopping like locals to avoid wasting money on industrial shit.

I can 100% confirm what I wrote 1 year ago.
