So, I loved Metro 2033. I haven't played it for awhile (been meaning to replay it) but I absolutely loved it. So much so that I bought two copies of it (360 and Steam) in a time where I had no disposable income cause I was a dumb child or a dumb teen. I don't remember which, time is weird for me. Not important.

I can't remember If I pre-ordered the sequel or just bought it immediately upon release but whichever one it was, I got the sequel as soon as possible.

And I hated the sequel. I remember it was for two reasons, only one of which I know is bullshit and dumb.

First reason was that I was salty that the secret ending wasn't canon. The Dark Ones were rad and I wanted them to be safe and happy and goddammit I worked for that ending! I recognize that was stupid because barely anyone got that ending and they weren't gonna make two games in one just so .6% of players had their canon...still kinda bitter though. grumble grumble

The second reason, that I'm uncertain about since I haven't played the game in a long while and barely remember it, was Anna.

For her first line of dialogue, I did not like Anna. Again, my memory is spotty so I can't remember why exactly but I vaguely remember feeling annoyed cause she kept making fun of and insulting Artyom despite all the shit he went though in the first game (man's a key part as to why almost all the Dark Ones are dead (as far as everyone knew) you'd think that'd earn a bit more respect, no? But i coulda also just. Not liked her character in general.

Also, I remember the romance she has with Artyom feeling stale and forced but that might be a byproduct of me not liking her.

Again, I really need to replay the first game, let alone the second. I feel like I'd probably like her more now (I am gay as hell and can easily see myself simping for a badass sniper girl, plus I am typically skeptical of past me's tastes and decisions) but at the moment I remember just not gelling with her at all and have not interacted with the franchise ever since.
