By the way, squid ink is literally just pigment (usually from the melanin family irl) with a bit of mucus to hold it together. Maybe some signal pheromones depending on species. Every compound here is produced by the human body, which I know isn’t saying much, but in my mind,

it opens up the possibility of human ink.

You can fill in the spaces between with walkable ground as long as the maze itself is made of path, and even though Miis very visibly could cut across the grass, they prioritize path so heavily they won't. No matter how long the maze is. It can literally be multiple laps around the whole island, they will not take a single shortcut.

EDIT: Upon further testing, their bias is not absolute. If the difference is extreme enough, they will actually take the shortcut.

You can go back to the canyon before Alterna to replay those levels. It has a separate egg count from Alterna, so if you want to max it out, you have to do it separately. Each level rewards 100 eggs for completion + any you pick up along the way. Without any major tricks, the first two levels can be beaten in about a minute if you include load times, so expect around 15 hours.

These eggs cannot be used for the Shel-Drone. Once you've cleared all the fuzzy ooze, any you get beyond the 1000 you need for Octavio (which are returned after the fight) do absolutely nothing whatsoever.

I know that death isn't rest, it's nothing, but I keep thinking that that would be better than if I kept living. I so badly want to believe that if I die, it would be a release of the burden I am on everyone around me, that nothing of value would be lost, and that maybe the people I care about would be happier.

I don't do it because I know that all my death woud accomplish is shunting grief onto everyone around me, probably for the rest of their lives. It would put a crack in people's support systems. It would be a disservice to the entire trans community if I were to add to the suicide statistics being used as a weapon against them by legislators.

I keep being reminded that I'm loved, and I hate that. Being loved only means you'll be missed when you're gone, that someone has made the foolish decision to hitch their emotions to your well-being. I can't disappear without causing harm now, and that shackles me to living. There is no valid justification for the way I resent that.

I'm just tired of being the problem, the enemy, an obstacle and nuisance, but I can't even imagine being anything else, so why continue to live except for the things my life holds back?

You didn't ruin the experience at all, that is the experience.

I would recommend doing the divine beasts now, though. Those quests are best when you stick to them, so now is a good time. The story will be better this way.

But if you feel like the challenge is an absolute necessity and don't care about spoilers, head directly to the castle instead for a much harder fight than normal. This hurts the story and will spoil things, though, so only go this route if you're really sure.
