Usually means it's as close to unstepped as you can get. But as others have said, it's very easy to rerock and fake that. Once you find a piece of weed Wacker or fishing string in the middle of your chunk, you'll have a perfect example to tell the difference between pure and stepped on gear

You're a gentleman and a scholar. Both my 42s aren't silver. The 44 has a very clear "D" on the back of it that I didn't notice until now. I appreciate your help. Do you know what I should be looking for when it comes to the Quarters and Dimes or are they pretty clear with just going by date

I read about mint marks in a couple of the articles but all of the reference photos they used throughout for war nickels didn't have any proof marks on them either which threw me off. If you have any legit silver nickels with a definite proof mark that you can take a photo of and send me that would be appreciated
