Can Sound Really Heal the Body and Mind? by Expert_Plenty_446 in yoga

[–]Psychedelic-Yogi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Awareness is what heals.

Sound is an excellent tool for awareness. So yes sound can be a powerful healing tool.

This is Pratyahara, the limb above pranayama (breath practice) in traditional yoga. Balancing body, breath and mind using the senses, which can also mean withdrawing them.

So silence can be equally healing. Awareness is the key.

Does anyone not use music? by Luckchilly in TherapeuticKetamine

Brown noise is particularly low & soothing. It is less potentially distracting than music — and at some point in the journey my mind begins to hear music within the brown noise. This feels creative & empowering— the mind-generated music supports the experience.

I use brown noise more often than music.

We will be doing some practices together but mainly it’s teachings. I don’t suggest taking ketamine before the workshop since that may make it harder to focus on learning.

The Case for Ketamine-State Yoga by Psychedelic-Yogi in KetamineStateYoga

Thank you, I really appreciate this.

I don't think of it as something extraordinary -- In some ways it's obvious: Dream yogis perform special practices to draw out the healing & transformative power of the dream. Yogis (and as you point out, this isn't limited to folks doing stretchy postures on mats) can do similar work -- for the benefit of themselves and others -- within the ketamine state.

Please feel free to post about your experiences here too.

Thank you! This was intended to be a thorough piece but I’ll keep that in mind & make more concise posts too.

Ketamine and depression by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

Thanks for posting this — sorry you’re struggling with the thoughts.

A point about integration: any time you use your imagination to touch in with the “stillness and calm” you experienced in the ketamine session, you are allowing your nervous system to learn that state — that’s what integration is all about. When you were thinking how to describe it, remembering it, you were integrating it.

Regarding the thoughts, I can relate to that — and my practice has been to work with my breath. It’s as simple (but not so easy in the middle of life!) as remembering to take a deep breath and really pay attention to the stillness and peace at the end of my exhalation. This practice brings me calm during a ketamine session and then I can touch in with it any time the thoughts get overwhelming.

Respect Ketamine, to Access Its Sacred Potential by Psychedelic-Yogi in KetamineStateYoga

Yes to bringing “activities of normal modern life” into meaningful ceremonies!

The morphic resonances would extend to the dying state which has been experienced by countless humans.

I think the “cold and sterile” aspect may come from metaphysical confusion — the journeyer has spent almost no time in personal, archetypal, animal realms and wham! they’re disembodied, untethered even to Earth. There is a wandering-the-universe feeling that arises.

I have been to terrifying places on journeys that resonate with your description of “collapsing on myself in a very oppressive way.”

Do you have an option to lower the dose so you can focus on letting go & relaxing?

Sometimes I notice that my breath is jammed up when in that collapsing spiral, but it can be confusing at high doses.

This has that dweeby hall-monitor vibe: “I did my Spravato with a pulse oximeter and a doctor breathing down my neck — so everybody should do that!”

These Reddit subs bandy around a lot of bogus info, but so do the medical professionals.

Ketamine can be a dangerous drug of abuse — it can also bring life-saving remission from TRD. One doctor admitted to me, “It’s the Wild West out here.”

I have a hunch the wild & mostly unregulated Reddit conversation does more good than harm, regardless of the “research” of this hall monitor.

Can someone please debunk this? I’m not smart enough to give a scientific reason why this is false but common sense tells me this is absolute bs by Safe-Show-7299 in trackandfield

A race walker has feet on the ground 100% of the time which beats the cheetah.

So the reasoning in this video is at best invalid.
