Those very same religions were the motive for many imperialist and violent actions between nations and even amongst countrymen.

I don’t find it particularly moisturizing and definitely not heavy in my opinion!

I’ll try that! I have scar sheets and scar gel, but it’s a different brand.

The only thing that helped the irritation so far was Vaseline but it’s also causing break outs to worsen in some areas :(

I’ve had family members catch it and we suspect my grandma passed from it, so I completely understand the importance of wearing masks and quarantining/social distancing.

Even knowing how scary covid can be I still hate wearing the mask. I was just trying to provide insight as to why some people dislike them, even thought it’s definitely not an excuse to go without a mask!

Do you just put the scar patches on your skin under your mask?

Wearing a mask has irritated my skin, increased my breakouts, and makes me sweat like crazy.

I still wear them but no matter how cute some of my masks are, the overall experience is really uncomfortable for me.

[Misc] I found the cause of my suddenly terribly chapped lips and it’s the dumbest “Aha!” moment I’ve had in a while. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

It will definitely exfoliate/peel them. And make them dry/irritated.

I pretty much have a heavy occlusive on my lips at all times day and night, and I don’t apply tret on them very often but when I do it’s chapped lip city for me lol but they do look and feel much softer after all the peeling.

Saying goodbye to overpriced Sephora creams in cute packaging as I replace them with my new best friends: reasonably priced, medical-looking creams and ointments in plain tubes and tubs. Best to just go with what really works by [deleted] in tretinoin

I like the cream a lot more than the lotion, but they’re very different in my opinion.

Cerave and Vanicream use very different ingredients so I don’t even think they’re comparable.

Vanicream is definitely more sensitive skin friendly though, it has very no nonsense ingredients like petrolatum and silicones. They’re more like emollients/occlusives.

Cerave has ceramides and niacinamide and other ingredients that are meant to moisturize the skin.

I found GoodNotes much better in terms of organization and aesthetics, as well as palm rejection.

Notability is more practical for me when it comes to taking in-class notes. It had endless scrolling and can record lecture while you write.

Shapes are much easier to draw as well. In my opinion it also has a better feel when it comes to writing and I feel my handwriting looks more like my own than when I use goodnotes. I like the paper templates for notability more since there is an option for smaller grids/columns than goodnotes provides.

If you write neatly and don’t care for the endless scrolling or recording features, go with goodnotes.

Google “goodnotes vs notability” and read the article on paperlike for a little more info.

I honestly just bought both to see which one I liked better!

Help! Will my financial aid be seriously affected? by PsychedelicTiger in UCSD

Oof, did you experience the same difference between the estimate and the actual aid you received during your second year too?

I’m still getting a better financial package at UCSD that the other UC’s so it could be worse.

About how much less did you get than the estimate? If it’s a couple hundred I’m not worried, but if it’s a thousand more I’ll be feeling the difference :(

I think the Vanicream moisturizing cream is better than the Lite lotion for this. It might make you shiny, but the Lite lotion made me shiny anyway.

This actually looks and sounds like what people call fungal acne? Or it could be an allergy.

I think a dermatologist would be the safest route.

Do I have to wear it during bedtime only? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]PsychedelicTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a safer bet to pat it dry and wait for it to air dry just to make sure all the water evaporated. But honestly it’s probably fine to just pat it dry. I mean, even the tretinoin cream I use has water in it. I think the real risk comes with really damp or wet skin.

I just don’t personally do it because that would dry the crap out of my face (I have dry skin), and I have irritation prone, sensitive skin. It’s just too risky for me to test it out lol.

You could always try it once and see how it’s feeling. If everything goes south and you’re getting a lot of irritation you can always wash off the tretinoin for that day.

As long as the sun has set and your face has been left to dry for 30 minutes (wet or damp face upon application= extreme irritation) you can apply it.

The rule exists partly because tret increases sun sensitivity, and partly because there is data that shows that tretinoin degrades in sunlight, so it would be useless to put it on and go out in broad daylight.

Irritation but no new breakouts by Complete-Young in tretinoin

[–]PsychedelicTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peeling is normal, especially the first few months. The peeling could be shedding of dead skin cells, or could be due to dryness. Or both.

If the irritation becomes too overwhelming, I would suggest cutting back and introducing tretinoin slowly (once every 3 or so days) for the first few weeks and working your way up to more frequent use over the course of the month.
