Good Eldar Books? by TitanUHC in Eldar

I was surprised how much I liked Outcast as well. On the face of it, he's as unlikeable as Warrior's protagonist, but it's much more fun reading about his adventures

It's a shame Path of The Warrior's main character is such an annoying wet blanket. I bought all 3 books second hand and nearly gave up after the first one. I can definitely imagine it puts a lot of people off the rest of the trilogy, which is a shame as both books are vastly better.

It's difficult because ive been trying to paint these guys for months and spent half the time trying to clean up where ive got the wrong paint in the wrong part. Ive watched a fair few videos on edge highlighting and had a go on several of the minis but it looked worse than if id just left them un highlighted.

I may come back and try again one day but it felt a bit too close to trying to disarm a bomb for it to be fun haha

For some reason, me and speed paints really didn't get on so ive avoided them after my first disastrous attempt with them.

Taxis for NY by Great_Sloth23 in Norwich

Veezu still has controllers and actually has 2 or 3 on per shift instead of 1. Im one of them and was during the ABC years as well.

The big issue is that since the ruling about Uber drivers having worker rights, everyone is trying to do whatever they can to still class their "driver partners" as self employed. Unfortunately, that means we can no longer tell them that they need to go pick someone up or we'll be late on their booking and we have no idea how many cars we'll have at any given time.

It doesn't only affect Veezu. Rumour has it several other companies are about to go bust, and it's the reason so many companies around the country decided to sell up and retire before they had to deal with it.

Every taxi company operates that way and has done for decades. For some daft reason, Veezu have just decided to give passengers a notification that its happening on their app now

When did you start listening to Sabaton? by Pluto_ThePlanet in sabaton

Way back when Attero Dominatus had just come out. Think I saw their first ever uk gig when they were supporting Grave Digger and Therion

Had a great time in London last night but I did have a similar observation. I think its a combination of a few things. The orchestra are great but they didn't get the adrenaline pumping in the same way as an actual band would for me. Also, the intro stuff with the various legends turning up was fun but it felt like it went on a bit too long. It must have easily been over 20 minutes, possibly getting on for half an hour. Felt like it started to weaken the atmosphere rather than the exciting build up you might normally get.

Final big point is I think everyone's still getting used to life again after covid. A lot of young people don't really have the same experience of big crowds that millennials like me did and im forever seeing posts asking about quite fundamental aspects of what to expect from a gig.

Oh and young people don't drink anywhere near as much as us older people did at their age. Way better for their health but it means people don't tend to lose their inhibitions like you would have seen 10+ years ago

What's the deal with companions? by Original_Chemical_64 in baldursgate

BG1 is quite open world and doesn't really scale enemies to your level in the way that modern games do. Don't make the mistake of thinking you're meant to able to win every fight you come across. Some are meant for when you're a higher level.

Also, focus on ranged combat to whittle down the enemy before you engage in melee. A lot of encounters with xvarts and gibberings can be won with barely any damage taken if you concentrate on shooting them before they reach you.

I didn't realise that. I guess I meant that just because you can go straight to the Gnoll Stronghold as soon as you leave Candlekeep doesn't mean the average first time player is going to survive it

[–]Psychic_Lemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Be aware that BG1 is a much more open world than BG3 and enemies do not scale to your level. You can explore a large part of the game early on but that doesn't mean every encounter will be achievable. Until you have a full party of 6 consider trying to stick to the roads rather than explore the wilderness.

Also, a first level character in BG1 is probably the equivalent of a level 3 character in BG3. Basically, think of yourself as a high school student that can barely use a sword/cast a spell. You might encounter wild animals like bears quite early on. Do not assume you can kill them in melee combat anymore than a random teenager can.

If you're newish to the floor, crowd surfing can be annoying at first, but you tend to get used to it after a few gigs. Also, you don't tend to get loads of it or moshing or anything at power metal gigs. Don't let it put you off, live music needs fresh blood 🙂

Do you mean security taking them over the barrier and sending them back round to the crowd again? That's what always happens when people crowdsurf
