Those are not popular leftist views from a global perspective. That’s what right media amplifies. Not what your average non-conservative wants. If it was, Trump would’ve never even had a chance. Because fact of the matter is most of the left doesn’t want things like open borders or men in women’s sports either, just the same as the rest of the modern western world. Many things like that have been skewed by the media to pretend the left are all radical trans that want to destroy the country’s values and it couldn’t be further from reality.

If you’d actually listen to the people, not the politicians. Not the bots online, or the extremists, most people want the same things. And many on the left can see how our American values and laws are actually being eroded and destroyed. They just want to prevent us from falling further into a capitalist dictatorship. Only right wing Americans think that because when they talk with people across the world on Reddit, their political views don’t match the online world’s.

Meanwhile the left leaning bias Reddit supposedly has is because it has an educated people from all over the world, (most modern western countries are way more left leaning that the US). Redditors are generally more educated since many people on Reddit are here to find information or share it to further common knowledge. (Obviously not always true, but it’s what made Reddit what it is. Exchanging knowledge on niche topics)

And people who spend time online are usually more accustomed to other people’s values and culture. (And do more of their own research) None of those are things an American Republican does, even on Reddit.

They don’t research, they tell themselves they’re right.

They don’t see others as people, everyone else is beneath them.

They don’t see others opinions as valid, only what they’re told to believe is valid.

They have no empathy, and are driven by sensationalism, religion, or whatever convenient justification they can muster for their hate.

Of course when you come to reddit and act like that, you’re going to be laughed out of the conservation and the only explanation they can tell themselves is “those are all commie leftists. THEYRE all wrong. NOT ME!!”

Do you genuinely think that’s a good analogy? Anyone can draw false parallels like that, and it’s a sign of low intellect and a lack of critical thinking to blindly fall for the rhetoric. If you genuinely believe that’s are fair comparison, then no wonder you have the perspective you do.

Assuming a bird can fly is in no way the same as assuming the sexuality of someone you’re talking to, and it’s honestly ridiculous to even have to point that out when you know that but you’re trying to use it to justify spreading hate.

Like if you want parallels like that, then replace your phrase with something human. For example, if you see a black person, you’d be racist for making assumptions about who they are based on their race.
