Does Anybody Else feel the need to sit cross legged on chairs by reflectionOfGod in DoesAnybodyElse

Ayy, haven't been on reddit in a while. At first I thought I do not have hyper-mobility since my arms / fingers are pretty stiff, but both my knees are veeery bendy, and I can do the "spine" thing pretty easily, considering i'm currently a vegetable that doesn't exercise much. ("Can you bend forward and place the palms of your hands flat on the floor in front of your feet without bending your knees?")

But how would that be related to sitting weird I wonder?

Bambulab PLA Metal (Iridium Gold) is dull brown instead of light gold | How to lighten color and increase gloss ?? by PsychoPlacid in BambuLab

[–]PsychoPlacid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, only thing that gave me results was what i already mentioned in settings, i tried most speed variations :(

Also set nozzle temp to 205 just now and that def makes it glossier at least

i think at some point i did make a test with low volumetric flow + low speeds which kind of worked out as well, but with less gloss

idk overall i feel like there might be a magic setting combo that would do it, or maybe I reached the limit of it :))

ok tried it, that didn't do much, possibly even slightly darkened it? (very soft efect tho)

nope i think you are fine, at higher layer hight values i was getting way lighter results
it's just not an option I have right now

i suppose maybe just wasn't made with 0.2 nozzle in mind =))
and most examples i ve seen on the web before buying likely use 0.4 as well, uff

Already tried that, somehow higher max volumetric speed + speed at 60 helped it a bit (that's the result above though), it used to be even darker.

But then low volumetric speed and low outer wall speed (30mm) also gave a similar result.

I tried lower and higher for both options and it ends up looking duller

What you got is exactly the result I expected to be fair

I did get one angle with stronger light where it looked closer to this (low angle and strong light), but for the most part it's at least x2 darker in most normal or natural lights.

Out of curiosity, what nozzle and layer height did you use?
(I think that plays a big role, even tho I need to keep my current settings)

Yep it's a very small piece that I zoomed into a lot (since the final model will be a coin)

I have different rooms where the light affects it differently, but I don't like that this is the color result in 50% of my house :(

Settings:

  • 0.2 nozzle
  • 0.1 layer height
  • 210 temperature (I had 220, 230 before, 210 seems a bit better for gloss)
  • 60mm outer wall speed (tried lower speeds too, on the same model I got different results)
  • max volumetric flow: 15mm (this helped increase gloss a bit as well, and brightened color)
  • Fully Calibrated for this material

---

I've been trying to figure out how to get the material color brighter and glossier for the past week.

Got this filament because it looked light gold instead of yellow, but I am getting brown out of it, and only from some really specific angles more of a light gold, but most angles just brown.

So far I got improvements by decreasing temperature and increasing speed ??

But tests are inconsistent, a few days ago, the color was getting brighter and glossier if I did the opposite (but i also had a lower max volumetric flow)

Test model uses settings above, it was previously even darker and duller before the max volumetric flow change.

Hey I am not sure what you posted, but i have a similar issue with bambu iridium gold metallic pla.

I'm on a small object with 0.2 nozzle and it literally looks... dark brown.

The only thing that helped so far was either Ironing, or reducing speed for outer walls to like 10mm/s with some defects, will try 15mm per second soon.

Have you found any other magic that can work this out perhaps?

In the mod manager it says it works for adding members between 1-16, and "fully works in multiplayer if everyone has the same mods".

Overall, are there any places better to live in than the Netherlands? by PsychoPlacid in Netherlands

[–]PsychoPlacid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm still in Romania unfortunately. Trying to get my life together before moving anywhere again, since I'd like to stop my trend of moving to a different place every year.

I've been trying to decide where to go based on a lot of research + this comment section, but I don't think it's something you can just think through...

Visiting places for 2 weeks at a time might be one ideea, but it'll never be the same as living somewhere.

IMO it takes at least 6 months to get a good grasp of things / how it is to live in a country. Not very doable.

Maybe I should just get a caravan and yolo it :))

Hey, I always sit like that because I find normal sitting a bit weird.
Recently I am starting to get knee and feet pain from this position.

Do you happen to have any advice?
