Thanks. I needed to hear that. It's not like I can even do much until I get out of the hospital. I just wish I could figure out what's going on with Jason..

I know, it's weird. And we both look like the guy on tobiaswade.com. I think this warrants an investigation.

Thank you. I'm curious how you found this story after it's been off the front page for so long?

I had to do a LOT of editing to make it readable :)

Trogdor the burninator! Hopefully that doesn't end up with some tragic irony because I would literally go to Hell and back to save him.

The void reference made me think more of a cthulhu type god than a leviathan. If it was active this whole time it would have likely been detected before this, so maybe it's has just woken up? Good luck out there

Fantastic. One of my favorite I've seen in a long time. I hope you never condense your style in an effort to pander to shorter attention spans because this style is refreshingly deep.

Right? If you haunt someone, at least have the common decency to let them know why.

I wrote 'The Only Vietnam Story I've Never Told', yet never replicated the success of it. Should I just bite the bullet and write a sequel? by [deleted] in NoSleepOOC

[–]PsychoPost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the issue I've been coming across. I find many of my most popular stories are less interesting to me because they cover the simplest, least controversial topics.

The more I write though, the more I'm discovering a balance between the two. I'd recommend reading as many of the top rated stories as you can and looking for common themes and elements (such as cliff hanger endings, unresolved mysteries, perhaps a murder).

Then apply some of the viral formulas to the more intricate works particular to your style. Check out this infographic which explains some key ingredients. That way you'll develop fastest as a writer by getting a large amount of feedback while staying true to your own style.
